…He had written down my grief and held it up to me so gently.

Every time I’d felt different, stupid, unlovable, out of place – he’d taken my pain and dipped it in honey.

It was cathartic and brutal and beautiful.

I’d always loved poetry and writing but this was the first time I’d witnessed it as something I could actually do for a living.

A way I could connect to people and share my inner world with the outer one…

Being young doesn’t negate your capacity for emotion. Your experiences are just as big as any other and if anything, lack of experience makes them that much harder to navigate.

When you’ve been through a hundred heartbreaks, the hundred and first lands more softly. You’ve got tools, coping mechanisms, understanding that this too shall pass.

When it’s your first, all you’ve got is pain.

When you talk to most folks under 35, there’s a common theme of apathy. We’ve become so inundated by reality that feeling hopeful seems fruitless.

Why bother reaching for the stars when the sky is made of garbage and the only thing there is to catch is airborne and highly transmissible?

It’s easier to grasp at the little joys than to stare into possibility. We’re all coping and holding onto what’s comfortable and safe.

And you know what? I get it...

Got to wander around pride this afternoon with .counselling & and it was perfect.

The best part? A food truck I could actually eat at!!!! I haven’t been able to eat food vendor options in years and this smoothie bowl made me so happy I actually almost cried.

Thank you for being celiac friendly and dairy free!! Your warmth and knowledgeable staff made my day.
