“Repetition is the essence of adult learning.” Speaker unknown. I once heard this at a Governance conference.
It stuck with me. Also, comforted me to realize that I wasn’t the only one who needed to review and revise content numerous times before I could finally retain it to apply it.
Today, when facilitating Annual Board Governance Refreshers, I am so pleased to see management and board members engage in constructive and progressive dialogue, almost as if it’s their first time ever tackling the topic.
Make the education of your board directors a priority. So many excellent resources available through both online and in-person training.
We all need reminders to refresh what we already know so we can keep improving, even if just incrementally.
