The Holly Jolly gift basket raffle wouldn’t have been such a success without the incredible generosity of these fantastic businesses!

To the amazing donors who contributed, your generosity has made a significant impact. Each item donated not only added sparkle to the baskets we created, but also helped us raise funds for the Prairie Harm Reduction Christmas Hampers.

Now, let’s keep the love flowing! 💖 Consider remembering those who supported us when you’re making your next purchase or planning your next outing. Whether it’s a cozy bookstore, a talented artist, or a home-based business, let’s continue supporting these local heroes who make our community shine.

Every dollar spent at these local businesses is a vote for the kind of community we want to be. Let’s make it one that celebrates and uplifts those who give back.

Tag your favorite local businesses below and spread the love! Let’s show them the power of our community! ❤️

🎄🎄🎄The numbers are added and subtracted and our bank account is once again at zero! That means we’re finally ready to announce our donation total from the Holly Jolly Holiday Market to Prairie Harm Reduction!!!

🥁Drumroll please!

💥💥💥$3,510.23💥💥💥

🎄How did we get here?

🎄It just so happens that when you combine an incredible organization already doing critical work in our community, 2 people with a festive vision, generous donations from vendors and local businesses, and enthusiastic shoppers, you get the Holly Jolly Holiday Market!

💥From there we calculated the grand total by adding:
- the remainder amount after all expenses paid
- all ticket sales from gift basket raffles
- the total amount moved to PHR from the online raffle
- the portion of market sales some vendors donated

🎄We also promoted the PHR online 50/50 raffle, and it was great to see people at the event getting out their phones to scan the QR code and buy tickets for it.

🎄It is important to remember the amazing local businesses and vendors who donated items for the gift baskets. This market wouldn’t have happened without them. We will be posting soon to highlight these generous businesses that donated to the gift baskets.

🎄Wish list items were also collected for the Christmas hampers.

🎄It was a wonderful weekend, and we couldn’t have done it without this community! Thank you for helping us make another Holly Jolly Holiday Market a success, whether it was through social media engagement, donating, vending, shopping, or buying tickets. We truly appreciate you all and couldn’t have done it without you.

🎄Note: Our donation receipts look significantly different from our grand total due to a couple reasons. For our online raffle, people moved money directly to PHR, and we also gave our vendors the option to send in their donations on their own to PHR. If you have any questions about totals, please reach out and we would be happy to provide you with the information.

Until next year,

✨Jessica & Teri

💥Meet Jess (she/her)!

❄️ Writer & marketer by day - thrifty, vintage-loving, pop culture aficionado at heart. Jess enjoys watching a ridiculous amount of movies and television, attending plays and concerts, travelling, doing puzzles, and organizing. At a party you might find her lecturing strangers on feminist issues or passionately shouting out the correct answers to ‘Name that tune’. The way to her heart is through 90s nostalgia and pop culture references. Jess loves plants and the Spice Girls, and would do anything in the world for her dog, Remy.

❄️ Established in 2022, Sweet Little Thrifts offers curated vintage items as a way to connect people with things from their past. Delivering a high dose of nostalgia, she sells toys, games and collectibles from childhood, as well as home decor and housewares including glassware, vinyl, books, and Knick knacks. He favourite sound in the world is hearing someone say “Oh my gosh I had this as a kid!” Cue all the warm fuzzies.

💥Meet Cassandra (she/they)!

❄️Cassandra is an artist from Saskatchewan with a lifelong passion for creation. For the past five years, she has focused mainly on needle felting and crafting closed terrariums. A few years ago, she transformed her creative pursuits into small businesses, allowing her to share her art with a broader audience. She loves to see how her creative endeavors make people smile, and how they allow her to connect with people she probably would never have talked to otherwise!

❄️Cassandra has embraced her creativity throughout her life, from doodling in the margins of notebooks to experimenting with various craft supplies. For the past five years, she has focused primarily on needle felting and crafting terrariums. She loves attending markets, where she can witness the joy her creations can bring to others.

❄️Miniature Menagerie are ecosystems in a bottle! These are terrariums that house all kinds of moss and plants, plus sometimes tiny snails and bugs. They are often closed ecosystems, meaning no care or green thumb is required! Great for bringing a little bit of life to any space. They also host terrarium workshops where you can learn how to create a terrarium of your very own.

✨✨✨About the Holly Jolly Holiday Market:✨✨✨

🎄We’re just a couple of gnomies, always on the go and always thinking about how we can make our community a better place. We are deeply grateful for the privilege we have, and we believe it's our responsibility to give back—especially when it comes to supporting organizations and people who are often overlooked or underfunded.

🎄For the last three years, Prairie Harm Reduction (PHR) has been our chosen charity partner, and we are proud to continue that support. PHR provides invaluable services in our community, advocating for harm reduction and meeting the needs of marginalized people. Despite their tireless work, they receive no provincial funding, which is one of the many reasons they need our support.

🎄This is a charitable market—every dollar we raise goes directly to PHR. We don’t profit from hosting the event itself; the money raised through raffle ticket sales, and extra funds left in our account at the end of the market will be donated to PHR.

🎄In addition to supporting a vital cause, we’re also committed to supporting small businesses. We work hard to keep booth fees as low as possible to make it accessible for local businesses, and we recognize the costs of markets can be a barrier for many. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who wants to participate can do so, without financial strain.

🎄We’ve also designed this market to be as accessible as possible for our community. While charging an admission fee could be an easy way to raise funds for PHR, we know that would create barriers for some people in our community. That’s why admission is free! We've also made sure the venue is mobility-accessible. There’s always room for improvement. We welcome feedback and ideas on how we can continue to make our market more accessible to all.
