This March, we’re thrilled to spotlight a vibrant and inspiring family that recently joined our Sherwood Park community! 🌟 Meet Christian, a devoted single dad, and his lively four-year-old twin boys, Dami and Dara 👦👦. With the support of Christian’s visiting mother—the boys’ beloved grandmother 👵—this close-knit family is embracing their new chapter with boundless love, gratitude, and resilience. 💕
We sat down with Christian to learn more about his journey as a single parent, the joys and challenges of raising twins, and how they’re settling into life in Sherwood Park.
🏡 Q: Can you tell us a bit about your family? Who are the members, and what do you all enjoy doing together?
We are a family of three: myself and my two adventurous, spirited twin boys, Dami and Dara. 🎉 Right now, my mom is staying with us, and it’s been such a blessing. She’s their favorite person in the world—her presence lights up their days, and seeing them bond with her fills my heart with joy. 💖
Our family is built on love, resilience, and togetherness. 💫 We enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring Sherwood Park’s beautiful trails 🌳🚶♂️, and winding down with cozy family movie nights 🎬🍿. It’s the little things, like their giggles during tickle fights 🤗 or their excitement over a bedtime story 📖, that make every day extraordinary.
🌎 Q: How long have you lived in Sherwood Park, and what brought you here?
We moved to Sherwood Park this past December after spending years living in Australia 🇦🇺, the U.S. 🇺🇸, and BC 🍁. I chose this community because I wanted to give my boys a safe, nurturing environment where they could thrive. 🌿 After researching and dreaming about Sherwood Park for years, it feels surreal to finally be here.
Even before moving, I knew this was the right place for us. 🏡 The family-friendly atmosphere, welcoming community, and natural beauty make it perfect for raising children. Every day, I’m reminded that I made the best decision for my boys. 👦👦❤️
🤝 Q: What’s your favorite thing about being part of the Sherwood Park community?
It’s the overwhelming kindness and support here. 🤗 As a single parent, it means the world to me to live in a place where people genuinely care about one another. The sense of community is palpable, and it gives me hope and peace knowing my boys are growing up in such a positive environment.
Sherwood Park is more than just a neighborhood—it’s a haven. 🌳🏡 The safety, the tree-lined streets, the cheerful morning bird songs 🐦—everything about this place feels like home.
⚽ Q: What hobbies or activities does your family enjoy?
We love visiting the local Leisure Centre for swimming 🏊♂️ and spending hours playing outside in the snow. ❄️☃️ The boys are eager to start soccer ⚽ and ice-skating lessons ⛸️ soon. I also enjoy cooking with them. 🍳👨🍳 They love helping out in the kitchen—especially when it involves sneaking bites of ingredients! 😂
🎉 Q: What does a typical weekend look like for your family?
As a single dad, weekends are all about balancing errands and fun.
🛒🏠 Saturdays are often packed with grocery shopping, house chores, and running errands, but I try to make it enjoyable by involving Dami and Dara in the process. 🛍️💙
