Connection with genuine, inspiring, gentle, and badass babes for life!

Last week I had 1 virtual and 2 IRL meetings ups with women in the marketing community who are the types of people I want to continue to surround myself with. Meta Ads managers, founders, community managers, and brand and web developers… but more than these roles they are caring and real humans who it feels so good to talk about life with.

At the end of each week I stop to reflect back on the “wins” and moments that filled my cup and these meet ups were definitely at the top.

The two in this photo with me are the ever amazing and from . Last year I was fortunate to find myself in the Growclass program and it has allowed me to meet a lot of awesome individuals.

So a shout out to my community. You fill my cup and I appreciate you 💖 Can’t wait to do it again!

We often say that we work with tourism and slow-living brands, but the truth is, it goes deeper than that.

The brands we are drawn to care deeply about what they are building. They are focused on quality, on experience, and on creating something that people genuinely connect with.

They are not looking for shortcuts or quick wins. They are building something long-term, something that reflects their values and stands out in a way that feels true to them.

They are the ones who set the tone in their space.
The ones others look to, whether they realise it or not.

They are not here to blend in. They are here to lead, to shape their industry, and to raise the bar for what is possible.

They want their brand to mean something. To be remembered. To become part of someone’s lifestyle, not just something they come across once.

Those are the businesses we do our best work with, and the ones we love partnering alongside.

Running a small business means carrying a lot of roles at the same time.
Founder.
Creative director.
Customer service.
Operations.
Marketing.

Most days, you find yourself dipping into all of them.

Somewhere along the way, marketing often becomes the thing that gets pushed to the end of the day or the midnight task. Not because it doesn’t matter, but because there are only so many hours and so many things asking for your attention.

Behind many thoughtful brands is someone who is holding a lot at once. Building something meaningful while also managing the day-to-day realities of running a business (and life).

The right kind of marketing support is not about adding more pressure or more tasks to your list. It’s about having someone step in who understands the vision you are building and can help carry part of that weight alongside you.

If you are building a brand with intention and feel like marketing is the piece that keeps getting squeezed into the margins, you are not alone.

And if having the right support beside you sounds like it would change things, I would love to start that conversation.

Many business owners think marketing will produce immediate sales. Sometimes it does. But often the earliest signals of growth show up in quieter ways, long before the numbers fully reflect what is happening.

This looks like:
People begin to recognise your brand.
Someone mentions they have seen your content before.
A new prospect shows up, already familiar with your work.

Conversations about your business start to feel easier because people already understand a little about what you do and what you stand for. Not only this, but the RIGHT people are having the conversations with you. The ones that make you want to pinch yourself because they want to work with you too.

These moments can feel small when they happen, but they are often the early signs that your marketing is beginning to build momentum.

When strategy, messaging, and visibility start working together, the shift usually becomes noticeable well before the data fully catches up.

If you are experiencing some of these signs, your marketing may be doing more than you think.

Many brands come to us feeling frustrated, and often it is not because the work is not being done (although sometimes that's the case too).

Often the missing piece is understanding.

When marketing begins without truly understanding the brand, the work can start to feel disconnected from the business itself. The content may be consistent, but it does not quite reflect the voice, values, or vision behind what is being built.

Strong marketing begins by slowing down enough to understand the foundation: what the brand stands for; who it is meant to serve; what it is trying to achieve over time.

From there, strategy becomes clearer and the work begins to feel far more aligned.

When we begin working with a brand, we spend hours deep diving into the business itself. We learn the story, the values behind it, the voice, the audience, and the direction the brand is trying to grow.

That understanding becomes the foundation for everything that follows. The content feels natural, the messaging feels aligned, and the strategy has direction.

If you are looking for a strategic marketing partner who takes the time to truly understand your brand before building the marketing around it, I would love to start a conversation.

Recently, after working together, a client shared a review that said she felt seen, understood, and supported.

Those words meant a lot to read, because that is something I hope all of my clients feel.

Marketing strategy is often talked about in terms of tactics: content calendars, ad campaigns, analytics dashboards, reporting. Those things matter and they all have their place, but they are not the whole picture.

Behind every brand is a person who cares deeply about what they are building. Their values, their vision, the way they want their work to show up in the world. Taking the time to understand that is an important part of doing this work well.

When that understanding is there, things begin to feel more clear, more cohesive, more manageable. And over time, the results follow.

This is the type of work we care most about at Salt Leaf. Building thoughtful strategy, supporting the people behind the brands, and creating a sense of connection that allows steady growth to happen.

If you are building something meaningful and you want marketing that reflects the heart of what you are creating, I would love to talk.

For over two decades, this company had been operating successfully with their marketing handled internally. Things were getting done, campaigns were running, and on the surface everything looked fine.

But when we started working together, it became clear that what was missing was not effort. It was structure.

Instead of jumping straight into creating more content or launching new campaigns, we slowed things down and focused on clarity. We refined positioning. We put proper tracking in place. We made sure we could clearly see what was actually working and what was not.

And once performance was being measured properly, the tone of every decision shifted. Conversations were no longer based on assumptions or gut feelings. They were grounded in data, which meant growth could be intentional rather than reactive.

Last season, the General Manager shared that the company had achieved 20% growth, along with a strong and steady final month of tours and increased overall visibility. The foundation was doing what it was meant to do.

From there, we began expanding. Email marketing was introduced for the first time. We were preparing to explore Pinterest. The strategy became layered instead of scattered.

Even established businesses benefit from strategic oversight. Marketing should not be something that sits on the sidelines. It should function as infrastructure.

If you are building something meant to last, your marketing deserves that level of thought and care.

I think a lot of brands feel like they are supposed to pick a side when it comes to marketing.

They ask...
Organic or paid?
Community or ads?
Connection or growth?

And the conversation online often makes it feel like choosing one means you are somehow compromising the other. But that has not been my experience.

Organic marketing is where your audience gets to spend time with you. It is where they begin to understand what you care about, how you think, and what you stand for. It is where trust is built slowly and honestly and where people start to feel at home with your brand.

Paid marketing is not about throwing money around or chasing quick wins. When it is done well, it simply helps more of the right people find you. It amplifies what is already resonating and gives direction and momentum to something that already has proven to have depth.

When paid advertising and social media are working together, growth feels steadier, more intentional, and less reactive.

That is how we approach marketing at Salt Leaf. We partner closely with a small number of brands who care about building something meaningful and lasting, not chasing trends or virality.

If you are building with heart and you are ready for aligned, supported growth, I would love to have a conversation.

I still remember when I first came across .wood.pottery.farm on Instagram. They were announced as vendors at a market at Bilston Creek Farm, which I was working at. I clicked their profile and instantly fangirled over their work and what they were creating. Beautiful, quality, handcrafted, and intentional.

Now 5 years later, I’ve been able to support them with my photography and marketing for their events 3 years in a row. Every time Jen calls me up, I feel like I’m the lucky one to fill the role. I love these guys and look up to what they do.

So last month when Jen said she was reviewing the posts I’d just sent her, I was waiting for feedback and revisions. What I got was the absolute best….
”BRB literally crying 😭 You are so freaking good at this.”

I don’t share this to brag. I share it because this is the kind of response I work so hard to create behind the scenes. I obsess over tone, making sure it sounds like your brand. Rework lines until they feel just right. I care deeply that the content I’m building is truly reflective of your brand and speaks to the people you want to reach.

So to receive that text, from someone I look up to? It meant the world (and yes I left my office to go show Calum, because as a small business owner, every little piece like this means the world to us). These are the moments and wins that make this work so fulfilling.

Imagine this… you’re crafting your products, inspired, welcoming guests into your shop, cutting flowers from your garden. You’re in your zone of genius, not glued to your phone trying to figure out what to post (or frustratingly giving up). You’re not scrambling to keep up online, no more writing captions at midnight… you’re focused on your passion, your craft, your customers, but still your brand presence and community is growing.

Your online presence is finally alive! New customers are finding you, your community is growing, people stop by and you now hear phrases like “I see your posts everywhere;” “I’m so glad I found you!” “I just ordered and I can’t wait to receive it!!”

This didn’t happen by accident. It happened because you finally took the step and let go. It’s the result of handing over your logins and trusting the strategy. Your brand is connecting and you didn’t have to lose yourself in the process.

This is what can happen when you have support behind the scenes. Your brand becomes visible, your values shine through, and you get to stay focused on what you love the most.

Are you ready to let go? Pop into my DMs and say hello. Let’s see if we’re the right fit for one another.

Earlier this week I was speaking to one of my favourite clients and we were talking and planning for new offers in 2026 and everything we were going to start doing now to lead to it, as well as for their existing tours.

When I asked for feedback on this past season, they gave me eye opening stats that are beyond what my dashboards can show me.

Previous to working with me, they had one employee juggling their marketing on top of their regular role. That person did great, but there was no strategy, planning, or desire to help grow.

Since bringing me in as a dedicated marketing partner (even when they originally were simply looking for social media support), they have
→ Grown by over 20%
→ Tours are now booked daily instead of sporadically
→ They keep hearing people mention that they’re finally seeing their content and love what’s being produced

I’m going to circle back and let that 20% growth sink in. This is a business that has been operating for over 20 years. And that’s how much we’ve grown it together in one year.

This is what happens when you find the right partner. And often that means looking beyond someone in-house (although your in-house people ARE still very valuable assets). Lead, collaborate, create space + clarity, and the momentum will build.

I have one more space in 2025 for this type of partnership so if you’re looking for your marketing partner, reach out now.
