The Native Canadian Centre of Toronto is giving out FREE back-to-school backpacks for youth!

Backpacks are available for youth from JK through Grade 12 and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Pick-up begins Friday, August 28.

Pick-up hours:
Friday, August 28: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
Wednesday, September 2: 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Thursday, September 3: Hours to be confirmed

🏠 CONGRATULATIONS, Na-Me-Res (Native Men's Residence) ! 🧡

The Toronto Red Pages is proud to congratulate Na-Me-Res on the official opening of its newest deeply affordable housing development on Coxwell Avenue in Toronto.

This important development provides 20 new homes for Indigenous men transitioning out of the shelter system or experiencing homelessness.

But this is about more than housing. Residents will have access to Indigenous-centred supports focused on mental and physical health, spiritual well-being, stability, healing, and connection to community.

👏 We also recognize the City of Toronto for its partnership and support in helping bring this important project to life.

Every person deserves a safe and stable place to call home. Investments like this demonstrate what can happen when organizations, communities, and governments work together.

Tristen is currently working in partnership with the Women’s Art Association of Canada to curate an upcoming Indigenous art show coming this September.

They are looking for applications from Indigenous artists of all levels and ages to showcase their work.

The application deadline is August 22nd 2026.

Native Women's Resource Centre of Toronto is looking for Indigenous Women Craft Vendors for their upcoming Summer Drum Social happening on August 28th, 2026! The 2026 Smoke Dance Celebration is coming up Saturday, August 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Woodland Cultural Centre.

Enjoy an afternoon of Smoke Dance, a Craft Market, food vendors, and a special presentation by members of Wiikwemkoong First Nation.
