Why is there so much NOISE in the social media marketing world? ⁠

Yes, there are updates GALORE, shifts with engagement, privacy updates, new features......the list goes on and on. ⁠

The illegitimate 'gurus' start telling you exactly what TO do and what NOT to do, and we're guessing it sounds a little like this: ⁠

- post daily⁠
- niche down...like, way down⁠
- content themes or buckets ⁠
- use trending audio⁠
- value-based content only ⁠

This is what EVERYONE is telling you to do, right? Especially the individuals with a large following. You start to follow their advice, because they MUST be right if they've seen success.....⁠

Then, why is your follow count crawling? Why are your posts not getting comments and reels not getting seen? Maybe you're noticing that something performed REALLY well, but you have no clue why because everything else tanked? ⁠

All of these tips , tricks, and tactics are dying to be supported by an overall strategy
Your social media is one small point of communication for your brand, and should be strategically working towards one LARGE plan in your business. ⁠

There should be rhyme and reason to most everything you do on social media, to help grow and convert your followers into customers! ⁠
⁠...And that most important part? ⁠

That rhyme and reason is DIFFERENT for every business. ⁠

❌ It isn't always followers⁠
❌ It isn't always profit⁠
❌ It isn't always direct conversions ⁠

✅ Maybe it's people helped⁠

When looking at different social media accounts there is one thing that often strikes me.

They make it all about the product they sell.

Sure your product/service is important, but actually the most important thing when growing a business online is showing off your 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗬 or your brand's 𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗥𝗚𝗬.

When you feel 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 to the brand or owner of the business, don't you feel that much more eager to purchase something?

When you see 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 happy with their product, and feel like the business knows what they are talking about, don't you feel that much more eager to purchase something?

As a brand the actual product and its benefits should be the FINAL step in convincing someone to buy, not the first.

Okay, we do. You know the drill. We only dish out truth over here, and this is as honest as it gets. ⁠

The narrative these days is how people aren't seeing the same engagement as they used to. That's true, things are shifting.⁠

But it's not why your numbers are bad. ⁠

YOU are responsible for shifting your content strategy, and if it's not intentional, thoughtful, and rooted in the wants of your target audience, then you may need to change something. ⁠

It's NOISY on social media. Do you have a content strategy that cuts through the noise and positions you in front of your audience? ⁠

If not, it's time to stop blaming the algorithm and start focusing on creating better content. ⁠
