Most brands don't have a marketing problem.
They have a translation problem.
Somewhere between the founder's vision, the executive team, the agency, the copywriter, legal, the social media manager, and the approval committee, the original message gets watered down until it means absolutely nothing.
The brand says:
"We're customer obsessed."
The customer hears:
"You sound exactly like everyone else."
The best marketing isn't about saying more.
It's about saying the right thing in a way your audience immediately understands.
The best agencies aren't translators from English to French.
They're translators from company language to human language.
Because customers don't buy your strategy.
They don't buy your positioning document.
They don't buy your mission statement.
They buy the feeling that "these people get me."
If your audience keeps saying:
"This isn't for me."
"I don't get it."
"Why should I care?"
The problem probably isn't your product.
It's your translation.
That's why messaging matters.
Not because words are important.
Because understanding is.
