An interdisciplinary study conducted at Toronto Metropolitan University examined the effects of art installations, cultural programming, interior design, wayfinding, place branding, and architecture in public and private spaces.

Placemaking initiatives were found to cause a 50% increase in the intention to spend time in a given environment. Additionally, there was a 53% increase in positive perceptions of the location and a 77% increase in likelihood for individuals to recommend the location to others.

Wanting to be the next Lexi Grey or Mike Ross? Well according to science, photographic memory may not be a real phenomenon! 🧠🌟

This is because our brains don’t have one single all-encompassing memory system. There are actually several different processes in our brain that work together to create memories, making the chance of someone remembering every single detail perfectly highly unlikely. Additionally, our brains perform a process known as "active forgetting". As we learn new information, established memories are often updated or reconsolidated as a way to remove unused memories and keep only the necessary details. Research suggests that this process is helps keep our brains healthy and functional. Scientists argue that our brains were never designed to store every single memory permanently because, from an evolution perspective, it would require our bodies to use additional resources and energy to fuel unnecessary neurological processes.

How will climate change reshape the future of winter sports? 🌎⛷️
Research predicts that only 5% of all Winter Olympic venues will have reliable weather conditions by 2071-2100 if the world continues on its current emissions trajectory.

If the world instead met the Paris Agreement goals for emission levels, this percentage of available venues would increase to 38%.

Did you know? A study found that soccer teams wearing red historically performed better, a phenomenon researchers believe has to do with what they call "dopamine-dressing".

Research suggests that what you wear can impact your dopamine levels, influencing your confidence, behaviour, and performance. It can also affect how others perceive you🧠.

Do you think a simple colour choice could really tip the scales in a soccer match? Perhaps even at the World Cup finals tomorrow? 👀⚽️
