This week the government of Nova Scotia significantly reduced their Film and Digital Media tax credit, without consultation from the Filmmaking community at large.
Nova Scotia once had a competitive, vibrant, and successful industry that brought in millions of dollars in foreign investment, employed thousands of people, and was a key contributor to the economy of Nova Scotia; But they stand to lose this with this major cut to tax credits.
