Job Title: Academic Nexus Intern

Who Are We? Academic Nexus is a Toronto-based startup recapitalizing Canadian markets by connecting consumers, investors and qualified institutional buyers with opportunities to leverage their capital for products and/or equity.
The majority of the work we do tends to be across three sectors: finance, life sciences and mining.
Our clients range from venture capital firms & equity crowdfunding platforms, to startups and junior mining companies, to SMEs and large scale manufacturing plants. We also do a lot of work in e-commerce.
We’re a medium sized business of thirty-three employees. Shortly, we’ll be releasing our first SaaS based product & anticipate growing our workforce.
Who Are You?
Perhaps you’re an ethics major, like our CEO Daniel Barankin, with an interest in finance and a passion to learn. What to Expect: Under the direction of senior staff, interns will have the opportunity to conduct research on various subjects: synthesizing facts, analyzing data, & preparing presentation & reports for internal & external audiences.

Various sophisticated tools & models are made available to interns. Interns will be trained with relevant tools & made familiar with industry specific knowledge & will be exposed to the various facets & operations of the firm.

Minimum Qualifications
- No previous employment experience, or financial experience, is required.
- Completed or in the process of completing an undergraduate degree from any field. Previous financial experience is not required. Some of our best analysts have come from life sciences, philosophy, engineering, & various other backgrounds.
- Excellent fluency in English (both written & spoken). If you can write in multiple languages, please let us know.
