Our work with the Canadian Women's Foundation, 'Change the Story', was spotlighted on LBBonline - Little Black Book's Behind the Work. Building off the Signal for Help to directly address responders before they see the signal, this work was informed by statistics and worked to show juxtaposing story lines in a :60 PSA. Read more on what went into the work from Josh Neufeldt below.

Backslash’s much-anticipated 2023 Edges are here.

More than a trend, an Edge is defined as a meaningful cultural shift that has the scale and longevity to propel a brand toward a greater share of the future.

In the face of cultural complexity, Edges offer a way to codify the chaos and map out a strategic blueprint for the future. They also provide plenty of reasons to be optimistic about what’s ahead, as you’ll see in this year’s 39 cultural shifts.

These shifts were born from the expertise of over 300 global TBWA Culture Spotters—leveraging insight from Bogotá to Berlin, Kigali to Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi to Toronto.

Our newest work for the Canadian Women's Foundation, 'Change the Story', presents differing outcomes in a story of gender-based violence. Aimed at responders, the PSA seeks to tell viewers that when you know how to respond to the signs of abuse, you can change the story. The is a silent, one-handed gesture that was introduced in the early days of the pandemic to help combat the rise of domestic violence incidents during lockdown. Created in partnership with the Canadian Women's Foundation, it has been saving lives around the world ever since.

We are grateful to share that this week the signal reached an even larger audience: the hit US crime drama ‘Law and Order’ featured a woman using the signal to let officers know she needed help. The signal helped her get out of a dangerous situation and potentially save her life. Just like it has done for real-life victims of domestic violence and other forms of exploitation around the globe.

You can watch the episode extract here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgzHtxU0OIg

Please continue to share the signal to help as many people as possible to know how to use it, how to recognize it and importantly, what to do when they see it.

Being a category of one brand is better than being one in a category.

“It’s a Canada Thing," highlights the important and unique role CBC serves as the home of diverse and inclusive programming that reflects the whole of our country.

“With ‘It’s a Canada Thing,’ CBC is here for all of Canada, serving all of the people who make up our amazing, diverse, beautiful country.” says our president, David Toto.

Happy International Women's Day from all of us at Juniper Park\TBWA. Today we are making time to both celebrate women's contributions to history, society and culture, and also to acknowledge the challenges women continue to face time and time again. This year, inspired by the TYPISM Community around the world, our global collective took this years theme to call on designers around our collective to interpret the theme with lettering.

One of our designers, Kristina Cruz-Pura, was inspired by seeing herself in the women around her. Bringing in the mimosa flower, the official flower of International Women's Day, this piece reflects the shared resilience, growth and strength of all women.
