In May, lunch in Fort-de-France settles into an easy rhythm. The pace softens just enough, the midday rush eases, and there’s time to actually sit and enjoy what’s on the plate.

Step into the Grand Marché Couvert for something quick and flavourful, or find a shaded terrace along Rue de la République where lunch stretches a little longer than planned.

Menus lean into what’s fresh — vibrant produce, Creole staples, and dishes that feel both comforting and full of character.

For something more sit-down, spots like MIZA ( ) offer a refined take on Creole classics, while Le Truck Qui Fume ( ) remains a favourite for food truck and barbecue lovers. 🍽️☀️

If you visit Morocco, book the hammam.

Not because it’s trendy or luxurious, but because it’s genuinely part of the culture and one of the most relaxing experiences you can have while travelling.

Traditionally, hammams are steam baths focused on cleansing and slowing down. The process usually includes black soap, steam, exfoliation, warm water, and absolutely zero sense of rushing.

Some are simple and deeply traditional. Others are tucked inside beautiful riads and luxury hotels with candlelit rooms and rooftop tea afterward.

Either way, you leave feeling like an entirely different person. Learn more at: https://www.visitmorocco.com/en

Photo dump incoming ✈️🇫🇮

What a month.

We are incredibly proud as a team to have successfully helped launch Finnair’s newest direct route between Toronto and Helsinki, marking the airline’s return to Canada for the first time in nearly a decade. Watching this all come together, from the media lunch to the inaugural departure and touchdown celebrations, was something really special.

And yes… the rumours are true. The Finns really might be the happiest people in the world. You could feel it in every interaction, every speech, every toast, every conversation, and every moment shared throughout the launch week. There was such a genuine warmth and excitement surrounding this return to Toronto, and we were honoured to help welcome the Finnair team back with open arms.

A huge thank you to the entire Finnair team for trusting us with such an important milestone, and thank you as well to everyone who attended, supported, shared, reposted, engaged with our content, or followed along from behind the screens. The response to this launch has been incredible to witness.

Everything came together beautifully, and we cannot wait to continue following Finnair’s journey as they reconnect Canada to the world’s happiest country and continue building more connectivity around the globe.

Kiitos, Finnair 💙

Some moments don’t feel real until you’re in them.

Out along the Caribbean coast, our captain, born and raised in Martinique, read the water with an ease that only comes from experience. 🌊

Within minutes, we found ourselves surrounded by dolphins. Not a few…hundreds.

They moved in every direction, jumping, spinning, and weaving through the water around us. 🐬 Although somehow avoiding our camera…
In that moment, we felt like kids again! And we cannot thank enough. 💛

For a trip like this, where you’re constantly moving between experiences, location matters, and Simon Hotel ( ) made it easy. 🏨

Set along the waterfront in Fort-de-France, it’s the kind of base that keeps you close to everything without feeling rushed. Mornings overlooking the bay, quick access into the city, and a calm place to return to after long days of exploring.
Simple, comfortable, and exactly what you want when your days are full.

The best time to visit Morocco depends entirely on the experience you’re looking for, because each season brings out a different side of the country.

Spring is often considered one of the most comfortable times to explore Morocco’s cities and landscapes, with warm temperatures ideal for road trips, hiking, and longer itineraries through places like Marrakech, Fez, and the Atlas Mountains.

Summer shifts attention toward the coast. Atlantic destinations such as Essaouira and Taghazout come alive during the warmer months, offering a more relaxed pace alongside cooler ocean breezes.

Fall remains a favourite for many travellers thanks to its mild temperatures and ideal conditions for desert stays, cultural touring, and multi-region travel.

Winter, meanwhile, offers a quieter and often overlooked perspective on Morocco. Snow settles across parts of the Atlas Mountains, desert mornings feel crisp and peaceful, and many cities enjoy sunny afternoons with fewer crowds.

Rather than one “perfect” season, Morocco offers something distinct throughout the year, which is part of what continues to draw travellers back.

This was, without question, one of the most memorable meals of the trip.

At Diner des Mornes, Chef Sterelle (.sterelle ) invites you into a completely different way of experiencing food in Martinique. 🇲🇶

Everything is cooked over fire, using clay pots and traditional methods that have been passed down through generations. The ingredients are grown locally, many by a collective of women who share a passion for cultivating endemic plants and produce. 🌱

Each dish is rooted in tradition but elevated through care, technique, and intention. And beyond the food, it’s the atmosphere. Chef Sterelle’s presence, her warmth, and her storytelling all come together in a way that feels personal and unforgettable.

There’s a reason Morocco keeps showing up on more travellers’ radar lately…

Getting there from North America is easier than ever before with multiple direct routes from major hubs, but once you arrive, it’s the variety that really sticks with people. One trip can include bustling medinas, quiet mountain villages, Atlantic surf towns, desert landscapes, and long dinners in hidden riads, all within the same itinerary.

It’s also the kind of destination that appeals to different types of travellers at once. Food lovers come for the markets, tagines, and rooftop dining. Wellness travellers are drawn to hammams and slower-paced escapes. Adventure seekers head for the Atlas Mountains, the coast, or the Sahara. And luxury travellers have no shortage of beautiful riads, boutique hotels, and desert camps to discover.

Part of the appeal is that Morocco never really feels one-note. Every region has its own atmosphere, architecture, pace, and flavour, which makes exploring the country feel layered rather than repetitive.

And visually, few places compare. Colourful medinas, tiled courtyards, desert sunsets, intricate craftsmanship, coastal towns, mountain scenery… It’s the kind of place people naturally want to photograph, talk about, and return to.

Most people picture Morocco as desert, souks, and warm weather year-round.

And yes, that version exists. But so do snowy mountain peaks, surf towns along the Atlantic, lush valleys, design-forward riads, and quiet coastal cities where life moves a little slower.

One day can look like wandering through the medina in Fez, and the next can mean fresh seafood by the ocean in Essaouira or a drive through the Atlas Mountains.

That contrast is part of what makes Morocco so interesting. It never really stays one thing for very long…
