The past few weeks have been a flurry of seminars and conferences, as is normal for Nov/Dec. But one subject matter that has struck me of particular interest is the world of "Bitcoin / Blockchain / Cryptocurrency". We've done a few seminars on this exact subject, but one firm did an especially good job. Here's an excerpt from the seminar at Stikeman Elliott LLP. I've seen and heard so very many presentations.
I've heard about Russian Gas Contracts in Berlin. Police Law in Vancouver. Gas pipelines in Calgary and Houston, Biotech in Boston, Foreign Trade Contracts in Paris, and of course all things legal in our home town of Toronto.
But for the past 3 days, I've been in Yellowknife (Northwest Territories of Canada), at a conference for "On The Land Programs" for Arctic Indigenous Peoples. It's been very enriching and informative work.
At the end of Day 3, there were two storytellers that came up to share stories, and here I present a rather interesting story about Dogsledding (and dogs).
It's a bit long, but I hope it's worth it.

Today is July 1, we're back in Berlin, where we've been each of the past 4 years for a large conference on Gas Contracts.The first few times we came to Europe, there was a palpable sense of excitement when our "little company from Toronto" was invited to do events in Europe. Now, after having completed 30+ events throughout Europe, I think it's safe to say we're getting good at this kind of thing :-)

When we first started doing events in London (our first conference), we were greeted with a little surprise that we were livestreaming a conference. And, it's been our opinion, that Europe is generally about 5 years behind North America with adoption of some technologies, or at least with this specific technology.

Last night, as we were setting up our event, the hotel technical director mentioned that at this specific hotel in Berlin (one of the best business hotels in Berlin), just the past week, there was another conference that was livestreamed. But as we have been coming here for the past 4 years, and doing other conferences here besides this Gas Supply conference, he did say with some certainty "I think your company has done the most livestreamed conferences at this hotel"... and I'm from Toronto!

To make a long story short, we're getting comfortable in Europe, and we're happy with our ongoing success. I hope we can continue!

The past few days, we've been in Amsterdam, helping present a conference on Global Economic Sanctions.

We do many conferences per year, and while many of them seem to be interesting, and others... well.. not as interesting, this one is fresh and unique!

Economic Sanctions are not a subject that is presented much in North America, where we normally operate from. So, it's a nice fresh subject matter that makes us sit up, take notice, and learn something new!

Our jobs are always fun and interesting.

I'm sharing some photos from Amsterdam, the hotel we're at, and the dinner room which is just outside our conference room.
