Meet Omar, our always kind and articulate partner. He is never at a loss for the right words and always puts BLVDs client's interests ahead of his own.
What would you do if fear was not a factor and you could not fail?
Being the son of a fighter pilot and a three-time war veteran, my father was the epitome of a role model in my life. Thanks to his guidance, wisdom, encouragement and friendship through life, I was able to leave everything I knew and loved in Pakistan and start a new and completely different life at the age of 23 in Canada.
Once you experience something like that in life, you are forced to deal with the fear of the unknown and failure. As a result, I have not been fearful of much in life. I have taken many risks in life, failed a handful of times and learned along the way to better myself. Life is an opportunity each day for continual self-improvement.
The only rational fear(s) I have are not appreciating one’s blessings, not improving oneself and not paying it forward. One has to keep pushing forward no matter the obstacles with faith, courage, humility and empathy.
What was your last job before working in your current career?
I worked in the Corporate division of American Express Bank as part of my MBA placement. That invaluable experience working with and observing some of the top corporate bankers taught me early on how to manage and service high-profile clients (and dress well!).
What piece of media do you identify with most?
I love and consume different media types—however, I identify most with print media, specifically biographies of successful people, independent investigative journalism and anything related to cars (Salut Chris Harris on Cars & Jason Cammisa).
