The Toronto mayoral election is less than one month away. There are 102 candidates, but only a handful are actually viable candidates. Mitzie Hunter is not only the most genuine but also the most qualified one as a 4 time MPP. I encourage you all to review her credentials and our campaign platform and policies on a wide variety of important subjects, all now available on the update website below.

Toronto is in a precarious situation and whom we elect as our next leader matters for the future of our city. I wholeheartedly believe Mitzie to be the right person for this role and hope that you will consider giving her your vote in earnest.

She's not a former city councillor, or the ex-chief of police. Mitzie Hunter brings a unique set of skills to this race. Her experience includes the role of CEO of CivicAction, CAO of Toronto Community Housing, and former Minister of Education in Ontario.

This is great given that Toronto is one of the most multi-cultural cities in the world. Yet on the flip side, at 65 candidates now this campaign might be a wild-card, especially if voter turn-out is low.

With the election only next month, Torontonians should become informed as only a handful of candidates are actually suitable/capable for this role. I sincerely believe that Mitzie Hunter is the best candidate of this small group and I encourage you all to review her profile and platform below.

Anyone that lives here is concerned about the state of the city and its trajectory and rightfully so. And everyone is frustrated and disengaged politically. Yet the last thing we need is another privileged and established person like Ana Bailao or Olivia Chow running this show.

With the forthcoming Toronto mayoral election this June fast approaching, and now with over 40 candidates in the mix, and the campaigning in full swing, it's becoming more difficult and yet more important for the public to better understand who the candidates are and what they stand for.

I encourage you all to take a few minutes and peruse the below website for Mitzie Hunter, one of the leading candidates and someone I wholeheartedly support, endorse and am supporting.

Its official, 3 time MPP from Scarborough-Guildwood Mitzie Hunter has officially entered the race to become Mayor of Toronto! I'm excited to be a part of her election campaign and encourage you all to review her profile and CV as the campaign race commences in earnest.

Mitzie is an incredibly accomplished career politician and professional with a wholly Canadian success story. She's made countless contributions to our city and the betterment of her community and beyond and I believe her to be the best candidate to lead Toronto forward at this auspicious time in our city's history.

Over the next few weeks additional announcements and updates will be made and we look forward to connecting with the community, gathering support, enlisting volunteers and garnering attention to her platform and proposals. I think many of you would agree that we need the right leadership to take our city forward and more so, we need a woman at the helm and the change of perspective and management style this would yield. Hunter, deputy leader of the Ontario Liberals, had also until recently been mulling a second run at the party leadership, but decided to bow out and focus on a move to municipal politics.

As part of my role as a Business Advisor and Mentor with the City of Toronto's Department of Economic Development and Entrepreneurship, I will be delivering the first of several key note virtual presentations to members of the Toronto business and start-up community as well as the general public next Monday, September 28th. In this inaugural session, I will be covering the following topics:

This is a remarkable achievement when you consider that Toronto was regarded as a financial capital just 10 years ago, and Canada was hardly spoken of as a technology leader or pioneer. This is the first time a Canadian technology company has appeared on this prestigious list. Particularly special, one of the 6 companies (Mindbridge AI) is founded by a personal friend whom I fondly recall raising capital about 5 years ago, then barely in Beta phase, operating out of a small shop in Ottawa.

The way that the Canadian government has worked alongside municipalities like Toronto, Waterloo, Montreal and Ottawa over the past decade to support the emergence and growth of a nascent tech sector is nothing less than incredible. It is becoming a case study in how effective government policy at all levels can help create, sustain and grow a whole industry or sector. Public-Private Partnership at its finest.

When you add to this the absolutely destructive and farcical administration south of the border, leading to an exodus of talent our way, a Liberal government that has been involved in this initiative from the beginning, I am truly excited for what lies ahead for Toronto and Canada as we become a truly global player and pioneer in the technology space.

My boy Aman Chatha has been involved in this great and honorable Canadian charitable venture, spearheaded by Canada's very own Ryan Reynolds, to help raise vital funds to help our front line health care workers purchase critical PPE to help them and their families stay safe during this crisis. A lot of people are becoming complacent with the passage of time, falsely believing that Government has addressed this issue and the problem has abated. Sadly, this is not the case, and these individuals still need our support.
