In the aftermath of Hurricane Fiona, it was encouraging to see so many businesses take to Facebook and Instagram to offer support and their services to those in need. In fact, some sponsored business posts were so well targeted that they acted as a space for positivity, advice-sharing and well-wishes in preparation of the impending storm. It was a true, positive user-generated atmosphere in an online environment that was anything but calm.
But how can a company market to their customer base during a natural disaster — without appearing to be taking advantage of the scenario?
