This project is a special one for me because it is my very first time doing a short film. I remember back in university, I always strayed away from short films because I honestly didn’t like the idea of 12+ hour days back to back and it never attracted me. Because of this, I built up a wall and never stepped foot on a set because of my own stubbornness. Due to this stubbornness, I felt like I fell behind on my own growth as a cinematographer and lost a lot of potential opportunities to build connections and work on myself. But fast forward to today, I have now shot my very first short film and man, was it fun, tiring, thrilling all at the same time. I am super happy and proud of what we were able to accomplish and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Thank you for for trusting me to bring his vision to life. I cannot be more than grateful for the patience you had with me and always being so accommodating to all my requests. Also, shoutout to for being a killer Producer! She was there every step of the way and made sure everyone was happy and satisfied before, and during the day of shooting.

Did a lighting and camera test. One of the things I lack as a creative is my knowledge of lighting. Over the past couple of years, I focused so much on camera gear that I neglected one of the things that truly makes a beautiful image- and that is lighting. You can make a cheap camera look amazing with good lighting but you can’t make a good camera look good with bad lighting. So go out there and play with whatever lights you got and see what beautiful images you can create! 🙂

Happy to share this music video I was apart of. It was my first time using the Sony FX6 on this project and man, this camera is amazing. I'm very thankful to the team and everyone that took part in this project. We stumbled upon some roadblocks- one of them being having no power on location so we had to rely on our trusty V-mounts to power our lights. It is also my second project that I really got to take on the role of a colourist and even though, I am happy with the results, I know it is not perfect and I am going to continue to learn to keep growing. Overall, stoked to be part of this project!

Loving the dynamic range you get out of this camera. Fully miss using a full frame camera and it was awesome working with the F6. Small, compact and loving the square form factor.

Leica R 50 f2 Summicron

Test shot with this beautiful lens. I heard a lot of great things about this lens and I love how sharp it is wide open and how it renders a creamy bokeh. The build quality, the focus throw, the optics really makes this lens stand out compared to other vintage lenses such as the Contax Zeiss and Nikkor AIS. Overall, super happy to have it in the family 😄
