2022 is here! It’s time to start thinking about how your brand will stay ahead in the new year. Here are 3️⃣ social media trends to keep in mind when strategizing for the year ahead:

✔️ Short-form video will dominate. From Reels to TikTok to YouTube Shorts, short-form video will continue to rise in 2022. According to a study conducted by Cisco, an astounding 82% of all online content will be video content in 2022.

✔️ Social media will incorporate more customer service elements. Social media offers a direct line of communication to customers – and many companies are forgoing traditional means of customer service in favour of digital. Followers and fans are beginning to expect quick and efficient responses from brands on social media.

✔️ Augmented reality and virtual reality will be on the rise! Social media will begin adapting both of these technologies to create a more engaging experience for users. Brands will be able to leverage this to provide a better shopping experience for followers – allowing them to virtually “try on products” before purchasing.

Many brands rely solely on these platforms to generate sales, build awareness and relay important information to valuable customers! So… what lessons can businesses take away from the Instagram/Facebook Shutdown of 2021?! Read below ⬇️

✔️Leverage other social media platforms. You shouldn’t rely solely on one platform for your business! Start looking to other platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Twitter or Pinterest. If the platform aligns with your brand’s demographic - take advantage of these social giants!
✔️Get creative. Many brands went viral on Twitter and TikTok simply by creating unique, funny content in response to the Instagram/Facebook shutdown. If something like this happens again, be prepared to get creative and generate spur of the moment content to get noticed!

✔️ Ensure that your brand’s Instagram handle or profile name is aligned with, and related to the content that you post.
✔️ Your bio should accurately describe what your profile is all about - make sure that your bio includes relevant keywords that represent your content!
