The wise on with the lovely in Ottawa, chatted about how to be wise about spending on groceries including knowing how to make things from scratch like the basic starting point of broth!

Key tips we took away from this segment:

1) chicken bones carry a lot of key flavour in broth
2) low and slow makes the best broth (start at 9 am and be done at 4 pm)
3) herbs change the game, fresh herbs elevated the smell of this broth before it was even on the stove top.

Having made broth really helps you make a soup fast mid week.
