I spoke on live TV to million for nearly five years, and when I first started I was nervous AF. I received no coaching, and had to learn how to get better on my own. Fast-forward a decade later and I’ve coached over 100 founders to show up live in over 500 interviews - using my three-part framework. As a result they have increased their visibility and stand out as a thought leader in their industries ✨

If you've had a media feature or two…but it feels more like it was luck and now you’re stuck here's why (I love me a rhyme! lol):

Without a clear long-term PR strategy, it's easy to lose momentum, and it's the fastest way to give up on your big goals for visibility and think "this isn’t working for me."

Consistent media exposure isn't about doing more, it's about having a newsworthy strategy behind the story you want to tell about your business.

Our Media Pitch Template (MPT) will take the guesswork out of what producers say yes to and how to get your business front and centre on TV. It's the one template that has helped our clients land nearly 500 media interviews.

Inside the free template you will find:
• A proven client pitch that successfully landed media
• A newsworthy way to position your expertise with clarity and authority
• A pitch checklist to ensure nothing gets missed before you hit send

True visibility isn't about a one-off win, it's about having a long-term (repeatable) strategy.

Head to the link in bio to access the Media Pitch Template.

Congrats to Melissa Allen of for her feature in all about women losing jobs at a faster rate than men!

Melissa got booked quickly for this story we developed together because her pitch was newsworthy. It was timely, gave relevant context and the solutions for the industry challenge she pointed out.

She backed up her expertise with recent stats, instead of just throwing out her opinion (everyone and their brother can have an opinion). Melissa is naturally a strong writer (doesn't use AI) and we tweaked her pitch to ensure it was concise, had language that was simple to understand and of course proper grammar.

Most of all, Melissa targeted her pitch instead of using a spray and pray method. She knew that the author would find this topic interesting and reached out to her personally to share the story idea.

All these elements together resulted in a feature that showcases Melissa's expertise and credibility as an investor who backs startups led by Black and women of colour entrepreneurs.

Every time I head to the , my DMs are flooded with busy moms, working women and entrepreneurs who are so curious about “how” I travel solo. Girl, I book a ticket and go. ✈️

On the other side of fear is the reset you have been waiting for. It’s peace, eating and sleeping when you want, and the glorious sun, sea and sand. ☀️🌊🌴

I’ve visited Grand Cayman eight times 🤭 and three times solo. And I keep going back because of the short flight, incredible food, safety, luxury, and ability to roam like a local.

Hotels:
There are tons of options on the island, from high end, to budget to weekly rentals. I’ve stayed at several times. It has the cutest kitchen and full access to .
Shoutout to Ella and Gill at SS for always going above and beyond 🙏🏾

Food:
Cayman is not a resort island. You have easy access to several public beaches and are free to visit other hotels for food and entertainment.

Some of my fave restaurants:
✨Cocoloba @ seafireresort
✨Veranda and in
✨Tortuga + Beach House + Ferdinand’s

✨Singh’s Roti shop in Geogetown
✨ (incredible local food at the hot table)

Travelling:
Grand Cayman is a short flight from Toronto (under fours hours with ) and once you land it’s super easy and safe to get around. I hop on the bus frequently to grab groceries, head out to dinner and go shopping. Buses run frequently to town and up and down Seven Mile Beach.

Day trips:
There are several activities on the island, but my fave is always the trip to Stingray city and lunch at with . This time we actually had a detour to starfish point - most magical place ever.

Shopping:
There is such a mix of luxury shopping and local markets. I headed to on Wednesday when they have their local artisans market to grab some pieces of local art.
🌴 Every time I return to Grand Cayman I discover sometime new. Most of all, my soul gets the reset it has been craving when I travel solo. It’s never a question of if I will return, it’s just a matter of when ❤️ PS last pic 😭 🐓

“Tomorrow most of the conversations will disappear.”

I couldn’t have said it better. While today is about celebrating the incredible achievement of women - it’s also a reminder that we still have a long way to go.

For the last several decades women were sold a narrative about that equated being strong, independent and financially free from men - to equality.

Problem is, we are still competing with the - an entire system that men (and some women) actively and passively uphold.

- Having children doesn’t slowdown a man’s career

- The pay equity gap between men and women still exist whether you look at stats in your local community, country or worldwide.

- Women must advocate fiercely to get their symptoms taken seriously by doctors. Research and medicine after all is structure around the male body.

These are only *some* of the systems we live in. Every. Single. Day.

So maybe it’s no longer about doing more, but reminding ourselves we need to do less.

Resting.
Saying no to what doesn’t serve you.
And reducing your mental load.

Because equality shouldn’t be something we should have to earn 💕

Landing front and centre in a national paper with my saucy opinions about dating was not on my 2026 bingo card. 🫣

Truth is - I don't actively pitch the media anymore - a majority of my media interviews come from inbound media requests.

And no surprise - this request came straight from LinkedIn (scroll on my feed to see my predictions for LinkedIn as a media interviews lead generation tool in 2026).

While the journalist interviewed several others for the piece including women who are actively dating (I'm not), I became the lead in the story.

How did that happen? My opinion that men should pay for first dates because of the pay equity gap was a fresh take on dating.

The media does the same story about dating around Valentine's Day every year. They are just looking for a new perspective to move the story forward - that's what makes it newsworthy.

By the end of January I already fell off my main goal for 2026.

My goal had nothing to do with money, health or relationships.

It was something I lost in the last few years while I was in survival mode: JOY.

So at the beginning of the year I asked myself, how can I bring more joy into my life in 2026?

I thought maybe I can just schedule it in. Tell me you are type A without telling me…🤦🏽‍♀️

But joy is not curated. It’s not superficial. It’s just about being in the moment, doing less and doing what is in alignment.

For me it’s been about breaking out of my conform zone and figuring out who I was before life happened.

Lately I’ve been finding joy in simple moments like waking up to fresh flowers, making risotto from scratch - and nurturing meaningful connections.

I’m learning while joy is not something that is curated, it’s also not something you wait to happen.

Create space for it. And savour it when it spontaneously appears. 🩷

📸 Celebrating my dear friend in little Jamaica. Good food, music, vibes and LOTS of joy.

So men on the internet are losing their minds because I said men should pay for the first date. 🙄

I did an interview with the The Globe and Mail recently and my argument was that men statistically make more money than women - so yes they should pay for the first date.

Pointing out the and gap seemed to hit a soft spot in that led to rage and name calling in the article’s comments. (Men - are you okay?!?!).

My thoughts were anchored around the fact that women are not financially dependent on men anymore (even with that gap - yay us) and we bring a lot more to the so called “table.”

We own property
Have investments
Can pay all our bills
Are highly educated
Are emotionally intelligent
Doing professional development
Going to therapy

So while it’s very much appreciated, men paying for a first date is actually the bare minimum. 👀

And fellas who can’t read the room, here is the inside scoop: it’s never ever about the money. Read that twice.

Are you actually asking women out on dates and then expecting them to foot the bill? (May this type of man never find me 🫣).

Would love to hear your thoughts!

PS From a marketing and branding standpoint - backlash is just an opportunity to lean more into articulating your values to your community. Don’t ever let nonsense silence you. 💕

My PR predictions for what to expect in 2026 may be a little late, but they are solid. 😉

If you’re a business owner trying to increase your visibility and credibility on LinkedIn and beyond, you’re going to want to keep reading >>>

(1) First, media pitches that are AI-generated will immediately get rejected by producers and reporters. While many of us have been using AI to speed up business tasks, you still will need real skills to get your business media exposure. The media is really savvy at seeing what is curated and what is organic. AI pitches will end up in the trash.🗑️

(2) Next, pay-for-play is now a real thing in newsrooms. This means the media is asking certain industry experts to pay thousands 👀 to share their expertise. This is not journalism, this is not organic, and definitely not how we do it here . No one should be paying you to say you’re an expert...it gives ick).

(3) The last thing to expect for 2026 in public relations is that if you are not on LinkedIn (and active), you are missing out on media opportunities. A lot of media have merged over to LinkedIn (from X), and they do story callouts on the regular. (I repost a lot of them, follow me there to stay updated). But being on the platform is not just about scrolling and silently watching what everyone is saying – you have to have an opinion about the work that you are doing and not be afraid to voice it.

Those are my 2026 predictions for public relations and how they will impact you if you are a small business owner. Let me know which ones resonate with you.

PS. To avoid using AI to draft your pitches, hop into the link in bio and grab our media pitch template. It’s the same template we use to help clients land nearly 500 media interviews over the year.
