If you need a documentary filmmaker/cinematographer check out the work of Anastasia Trofimova. (And all her films .works) Since we met her over a decade ago she has ferociously tackled the toughest subjects. Whether it was the day she jumped on a bus with a camera to try to shoot President Obama’s first swearing-in, (without credentials and got within 100 feet of the podium with a camera!) or when she dressed as a young man to film secret weapon stashes in refugee camps in Lebanon or tackled dangerous research in Bosnia tracking down human traffickers, or since she left for Moscow, documenting the complexity of conflicts in the middle east, she was always; fearless. Fearless for the truth, for the story, often putting her own safety at risk, in Syria, Iraq, and beyond. Anastasia’s drive has always been to expose injustice while illuminating the strength of the human condition in the face of a range of unimaginable conflicts. Proud to know you. Proud to have worked alongside you!
