Somehow I couldn't share this post from Instagram no matter how many times I linked my accounts... anyway, this is a tutorial of making a real simple DIY squishy, I wanted to share this because squishies are great stress management tools for kids!
As I get stressed so easily, I often worry about my kids if they are also exposed to lots of stress by any chances. And especially since this whole pandemic, kids are in the circumstances where they have no other place but home to spend most of their times because of school closures, with no friends or teachers to share and express their thoughts, they're stuck with me! I mean, I would be waaay stressed if I had to put up with me 24/7! Anyway, I've been interested in kids' stress management tools and ways for some time now since my kid ever started going to school, and whenever I come across with something about managing their stress, I tend to dig in; books, toys, kids safe remedies etc. Squishies are one of those things that lured my interest. And they work great! I hope kids can have fun with making squishies and use them when they feel a bit overwhelmed or frustrated. Just let them squeeeeeeze it, then watch how it comes back to its shape again, they can squeeze as many times as they'd like, and next moment you know what happens? They'd notice they're not feeling so bad!
I want to try more professional looking squishy next time for my older kid with some memory form ball toys I found at a dollar shop the other day, using paper clay and school glue. I've seen a tutorial on YouTube but some of the supplies are not found around here so I want to try it with substitutes. If it turns out good, I'll share it here, too!

子育てをするようになって思うことがあります。
大人の自分がこんなに日々ストレスを受けてるなぁと感じるのだから、子供だってきっと自分でそうと気付いていなくても、ストレスを受けているに違いありません。

スクイーズはそんなストレスマネジメントおもちゃのひとつ。そして結構効果があります!少しでも気持ちがモヤっとする時には、スクイーズを思いっきり握りつぶしてみましょう。その形が元に戻るさまをじっくり観察してみましょう。顔などがあると、しわしわに潰れた顔が元に戻るところが結構楽しいです。そして何回でも握りつぶしましょう。なんならギッタンギッタンに壊してもいいんです、いくらでもまた作れますから!すると不思議なことに、気持ちがスッキリしているんですよ。本当です、試してみてくださいね!
