When meeting with a client who is starting a new business from the ground up, they may not be quite sure of what they want, but the blank canvas can be a lot of fun for both parties.

This is where hiring a professional designer becomes invaluable. Researching competitors, and asking the right questions all came together with my years of experience in branding design and a great product certainly helps too. The client's child was so cute to boot and became the poster boy that really fit the concept to a T (see black & white ad) their truck was to come later (see comp with girl).

The design respects the need to stand out while upholding OYA visual brand standards. What is BRAND? A brand should be the essence of how interacting with a company makes you feel.

Depicting the positive social norms makes sense for the world of workplace health and safety. Highlighting the good, no great outcomes of engaging with a company like WSPS can bring to a business partner. The WSPS brand is lively, colourful and, even had an employee recruitment campaign highlighting some of the happy people at WSPS in the campaign. A brand is the visible, visual stuff too; logo, colour, and typographic treatments.

This guide was designed for employees to help them understand, and embody the brand in their day-to-day lives by showing them how it all fits together to form the big picture.

Another wonderful client from the world of corporate travel needed a cohesive branding package for one of their lines of luxury business travel. Bold and colourful photography was the springboard for the brand colours where a flyer started the project with the distinct, exotic Marakesh-style windows into their travel destinations and incentive program. A website design followed up with a Holiday card later in the year.

This late summer project Started in August 2023 for WSPS (Workplace Safety & Prevention Services). Collaborating with the wonderful Marketing and Communications teams we created this beautiful document which is a review of their 2022 successes. Then we designed a complimentary presentation template for corporate suite users and on-site event signage for the September 2023 Annual General Meeting.

This one looks like some of the century homes in downtown Hamilton!

1916 Sears catalog home. They shipped the entire house to you by railroad car. Sears was like Ikea before Ikea.

Friends and family would come from all around to help the owner build it.

Most were built in New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Sears sold more than 70,000 mail-order homes between 1908 and 1940. Some enthusiasts estimate that about 70% of Sears houses are still standing today.

Sears provided building plans and specifications, along with the lumber and any other materials needed. The shipment included everything from nails, screws, and paint to prebuilt building parts, such as staircases and dining nooks.
