Arrived mid afternoon and had a fabulous first day in Rome covering a ton of ground, beginning at the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and then on to several piazza’s and ended up in the Trevestere area, which we loved. 18k steps for 1/2 day was a good way to start!

BCAD Group condemns Anti-Asian Hate. We grieve the loss of the 8 people murdered in Atlanta, Georgia, and all those who have been victims of the ongoing Anti-Asian Racism in both the US and Canada.
Enduring a global pandemic together has shown us how totally connected our community is at every level. Many, however, have used the pandemic as yet another vehicle for engaging in racist, sexist, anti-Asian sentiment and as a front for enacting violence against people based on their racial and ethnic backgrounds. There is never a rationalization for such violence and there is no truth to any explanation that blames a particular group or country for COVID-19 or any of its variants. We encourage you to speak up and voice the truth if you hear these racist claims.

As we reflect back on 2020, I choose to look at the wonderful wins and there are many. One of them has been meeting Director of Professional Learning and TEDx Speaker Ming Shelby. We have become great friends while never having had the chance to meet in person! She asked me to come and chat with her on her podcast "Courage Up" a place where MIng brings you strategies for greater fulfillment, success, and happiness in your career, personal development, and relationships. The power of courage is the opportunity to unlock or unstick something. I can't think of a better way to kick off the New Year than to elevate and empower diverse voices by celebrating progress, not perfection. It's GO time and I'm ready to welcome 2021. With the COVID-19 second wave upon us, we must harness our creativity to maintain the events that must continue to take place. Fashion designer Jeremy Scott does this in the MOST spectacular way for Moschino’s spring/summer 2021 collection with a fashion film teaming up with Jim Henson’s Creature Shop. In his short “No Strings Attached” film, he showcases 40 new looks using 30” marionettes.

There are moments in history that help define the moves of many generations beyond, as we continue to fight for a world where everyone is treated equally and where the rights and freedoms bestowed upon humanity can be enjoyed by all regardless of your race, religion, gender, age, disability, self identification.

John Lewis paved the way for all of us and has now handed over his baton. Our promise to him will be to continue his work by marching forward, leaning into good trouble as we vow to be unrelenting in our commitment for systemic change.

Thank you John Lewis for giving us the guidance, example and roadmap to keep marching forward. 🙏🏼

Though I may not be here with you, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe.
