It's been an epic journey with the Heinz History Center to work together on the design, creation, and launch of The October 27th Archive, a communal effort to compile documentation of the local and global impact of the antisemitic attack at a Pittsburgh synagogue on October 27, 2018. We at Agile are immensely proud of this collaborative work of commemoration, grieving, and tikkun.

The October 27 Archive currently contains 149 objects and is regularly being expanded with more material. The archive includes flyers and programs from community gatherings held since the October 27 attack, a comprehensive collection of news coverage about the day of the event, oral history recordin...

Last Seen is relaunched! Directed by Judith Giesberg at Villanova University, Last Seen recovers stories of families separated by slavery. Search thousands of ads taken out by former slaves, help transcribe them, & see how educators use them in the classroom. Kudos to Agile's Anneliese Dehner for the new look & navigation.

“We all have a past, we all have a history; some of us just know more about it than others. And it was my great lament that I didn’t know as much about my past as I did everybody else’s.”--Peter Gomes, Theologian and Pastor

We're delighted to announce the launch of the Louisiana Slave Conspiracies website, which Agile's Bill Kennedy and Quinn Dombrowski have worked on for the past several years under the direction of Bryan Wagner at the University of California, Berkeley.

LSC a collaborative research project dedicated to preserving, digitizing, transcribing, translating, and analyzing manuscripts related to two slave conspiracies organized at the Pointe Coupée Post in the Spanish territory of Louisiana in 1791 and 1795. The website uses a custom facing-page display to present French and Spanish manuscripts alongside original transcriptions and English translations, permitting users to search, browse, and navigate among documents and interactive maps derived from a database tracking persons, places, and assertions.

You can visit the site here: https://lsc.berkeley.edu/
