Happy Easter 2026!!!

There is something magical about this holiday for Ukrainians, and I always feel proud to celebrate it the Ukrainian way. I am not a baker, and I can’t colour eggs on my own, so I feel so blessed to have amazing friends and neighbours who help me (and I learn something new every year: this year I discovered that mixing turmeric and red cabbage creates stunning green eggs!).

As the war continues, Ukrainians more than ever are eager to share their traditions with the world: we colour eggs and turn them into little masterpieces, we bake bread called P***a, we place everything in a basket and have it blessed at church, we attend church even if we normally don’t, and we greet each other by saying “Khrystos Voskres!” (Christ is Risen!) expecting the reply “Voistynu Voskres!” (Indeed He is Risen!).

Some celebrated this weekend (typically Catholic), and others next weekend (typically Orthodox), but these are the special traditions I remember from my childhood.

This weekend, we prayed for PEACE in Ukraine and around the world, for HEALTH for us and our loved ones - because with health, anything is possible - and for LOVE, which brings so much hope and joy.

MARKETING is not just about ads!

As a business owner, if you believe in the cause, do community work, support a non-profit, SHOWCASE it to your followers and clients.

They like to see what you care about and what you do outside of work.

You never know who might just support you and make a connection or purchase your product/service because they also care about the same cause.

This weekend was Spring Cleaning Community Day for us, with Ukrainians in North York and Reach Church members.
Beautiful sunny day to spend with neigbhours and help the community church.

This weekend we coloured eggs Ukrainian 🇺🇦 style to celebrate Easter 🐣 thinking of all the families that are struggling due to war, wishing the peace will finally come to our beautiful Ukraine!

There is a believe that decorated eggs have magical powers to ward off evil spirits, banish winter, guarantee a good harvest and bring good luck. Let’s wish all of it to Ukraine and its people.

Happy season!
Sharing beautiful Ukrainian culture and traditions in GTA this holiday season with Desna Ukrainian Dance Company and Desna Ukrainian Dance School and bringing Koliada to North York for the first time ever!

Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian families and businesses enjoyed the celebration with us in December and January!

Sharing this experience with wonderful friends and dancers makes it extra special.

Shout Out to a local business - a beautiful Dixie Orchards Farm Dixie Orchards (30-45min from Toronto in Caledon). Amazing place for apple picking (they have pumpkins and hazelnut too).

Stunning place for photos and family time: corn maze, wagon ride, farm basketball, petting zoo, play area with lots of hay, sunflower fields, ice cream and picnic area. Beautiful place to visit with family and friends for a very reasonable entrance fee. Enjoy your visit!
