We did an event just over a Month ago with and to raise awareness about the lack of health benefits that’s given to hospitality workers in the city and how we can look to make a change on this issue that needs to be addressed.
to wrote an amazing article about how this impacts us as hospitality workers and why it’s important for us to get health benefits since being in the industry is a taxing job on the Mind, Body and Soul.

Seeing the amount of people that came out to this event proves that this is an important topic that needs to be tackled, and the only way we can do so is to stand up, give our voices and come together as a community to get this done for one another🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.

What a great event shoutouts to the crew and the LCBO for hosting the Cocktail Shakers & Makers event definitely a fun and unique experience, this was a great way to showcase all the different liquor brands and great bartenders/mixologist in the city.

WHAT A END OF A ERA!!!!!

5 and a half long years working at this restaurant and I wouldn’t trade this experience with anything in this world.

Colin gave me an opportunity to collaborate with him on making premade bottled cocktails during the pandemic and boy I wouldn’t have thought it would take my bartending/mixology level to a whole other atmosphere. Creating my first ever legit beverage menu (let alone in one of the most well known Chinese restaurants in the city) allowed me to go beyond and outta my comfort zone to try things I’ve never done before and for that I thank him with all my heart🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.

The love, support, respect and acceptance that I got from this home was nothing more than warm, heartfelt and nothing but family vibes. Meeting the people I met over the years and the family members I’ve also worked with over the years made me feel happy to come to work 5 days a week and even when work was done we still hung out like longtime friends.

I learned many different things at HS like how to play mahjong, 5-10 😂, a few cantonese style words😂, learn to use some scientific machinery for our cocktails Baijiu (which now became one of my most favourite spirits to drink), and many many other things that would be too long to list. The ultimate thing I learned was to always be myself and appreciate the people around you as much as you can they will be there for you through thick and thin 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾.

I don’t wanna say too much just because ill be here for days but the one thing I will say is thank you to everyone out there who has come to the restaurant or has supported me through out the years since I’ve been at Hong Shing.
