“Alberta Premier Danielle Smith boasted the potential for Alberta and Quebec to make significant economic gains if the two provinces forge ahead as partners.
Speaking at an event in Quebec City on Wednesday, ahead of her meeting with Quebec Premier Christine Frechette, Smith told attendees that both provinces have complementary economic strengths that, if merged, could create more provincial growth, stronger supply chains and build a more resilient Canadian economy.
“I invite every one of you to start or continue investing in Alberta to forge new and deepening partnerships with businesses operating in our province,” Smith said. ”

“Know that I will be encouraging Alberta businesses to do the same, to turn to Quebec and the natural synergies of our economies as they continue to grow and expand.”

Two days back, he tried to go viral in Canada with another rant of 51st State comments. If this was before, he would have taken over all social media platforms but this time, the no nonsense technocrat of a PM in Canada with few words quickly hammered it like a skilled carpenter putting that last nail on a casket.

When asked about it, the PM said the president had been too active on social media and he wouldn’t be commenting on all his outings. North Americans have described it as the best comeback against Mr. Trump’s usual outings, ‘he met his match in Carney’.

This however, found a spot on the brains of curious Canadians who vividly compared it to when Trump said he would take over Greenland and Canada stepped up immediately to end it, it equally refreshed the memories when Carney told Trump ‘Canada does not exist because of the US, we thrive because we are Canadians’. All Canadians have now renewed their confidence in the Senior Economist as he is the only leader in Canada to have stood up and told Trump the truth in his face. Our role as an apolitical platform is to say it as it is.
