This is one of the latest evolutions of the backpack with a drawstring closure that started with the grey corduroy pack that combined the drawstring closure main compartment and robust backpack style shoulder straps and back pad.

No ground breaking innovations or changes in construction (not true actually - it's around the time I smithed this piece that my loving mother got me a serger to step up my game) but I find I particularly like this bag, it really came together in the last few details. The yellow webbing, the fit at the shoulders and back, the oversized flap...the only thing I'd change would be to make the crest fully visible when the flap is down. Either way, it's definitely progress, especially when you consider the stitching, the details, and of course the streamlining of the building process.

This is a sexy concept prototype that I completed a long while ago that I'm only just now getting around to refining for production.

The cool thing about this bag is that the main bag is a draw string closure that runs through the middle of the bag and function as part of the shoulder straps as well. When the bag is not worn the closure can be loosened to open, but when worn the weight of the bag and tension on the straps cinch it closed, and keep it closed until the bag is removed.

Here's one I just wrapped up, an evolution of the string bag borrowing the basic bag and flap style/dimensions but with a more robust shoulder strap and back pad incorporated.

Grey corduroy exterior fabric lined and highlighted with white and beige striped cotton knit. Features a draw string closure on the bag, embroidered Freshet logo on microsuede, and a stealthy compartment between the back pad and the main bag accessible from the bottom of the bag.

This is an unfinished laptop bag from the first generation of laptop bags I did not so far back in the day (circa 2012). Left unfinished for too long I've started to finish it finally.

Featuring the wool lined hand warmer built into the backside and sized to fit a 13" or 15" laptop with room left to spare.

Hot pink and black cotton twill with some green highlights.

This is a handbag I recently did for a lady who is very special to me, and who brought another very special lady into this (and eventually my) world. There is no handbag in the world that could properly convey the gratitude that I have for them both being present in my life, but this one will be a damned fine start, colis :)

Designer fabric exterior with maroon and black twill interior. Micro suede pocket on the flap that fits a stack of hundreds or a .32 special snub nose equally well. Optional Bose sound system (Disclaimer - Bose sounds system not included or affiliated)

This was the first ever actual backpack that I decided to make. Two years of hard use and abuse later there's no sign of it giving up yet!

Intentional rips, overloading, 4 season wet and dry and washer/dryers are just a few of the trials this 1st Gen prototype has endured.

Learned a thing or two since then (and NOT always the hard way). Although some of the best innovations I've come up with so far have grown out of something that started out as a mistake.
