Do you have pumpkins or jack-o’-lanterns to get rid of? Place your pumpkin(s) BESIDE your green bin or garbage for curbside collection on your regular waste pick-up day.

Don’t forget to remove any candles, lights or other decorations from your pumpkins before putting them at the curb! 🕯❌

As daylight saving time ends this weekend, Quinte West Fire and Emergency Services reminds residents that with the ‘new time’ should come new batteries.

The clocks turn back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2. In addition to adjusting your clocks, residents are encouraged to take the time to replace the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Working smoke alarms provide early warning and critical time to escape in an emergency.

For questions about testing your smoke alarm or having it inspected, please contact Fire Station 1 at 613-392-6557.
