Starting up again at nearly 60 years old, especially in a new country is quite challenging and very tough. At these ages, people often have the tendency to descent slowly and safely as the airplane landing on the runway and then, to stop permanently. For me, in order to keep heartbeat and breath to work continuously until the real retirement, I have chosen the new trade business of import/export in Canada. Nocavi Food Ltd has cooperated with Nam Minh Group in Vietnam for rice business. The first shipment of ST25 rice has been loaded into the container and heading to Canada. Hopefully, everything is going smoothly, so Nocavi Food Ltd will first time bring the premium rice to Vietnamese in particularly and Asian community and even some Canadians in generally in end September or early October 2025. Look forward to receiving the great support from these esteemed customers. Thanks a lot.

Food in Canada news has informed on July 31st, 2025, that Canadian Food Inspection Agency starts inspecting manufacturing plants. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is conducting inspections of Safe Food for Canadians (SFC) licence holders that prepare manufactured foods. These inspections are being conducted to verify that licence holders are meeting the applicable requirements under the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).

If you hold an SFC licence, you are responsible for following the requirements, as set out in SFCR:

1/Implementing preventive controls to ensure the food you import, manufacture, or sell is safe and meets regulatory standards.
2/Having a written preventive control plan (P*P) outlining how you identify and manage food safety risks (if your business activities require one).
3/Keeping P*P up to date and actively using it as part of your day-to-day operations; and
4/ensuring your licence reflects your current business activities, food commodities and establishments.

CFIA warns failure to meet these obligations could result in enforcement actions, including suspension or cancellation of your license.

As seafoodSource news on May 27, 2025, US retailers, seafood restaurants raising prices, rearranging menus due to tariffs.

Some U.S. restaurants and retailers are already passing along the costs of tariffs to customers and have warned that future price increases on their products may occur should higher tariffs go into effect, such as proposed 46 percent tariffs on products like shrimp from Vietnam and 50 percent duties on E.U. imports.

Today’s Crab House in Oxon Hill, Maryland, U.S.A., is one such restaurant that recently raised prices on shrimp and crabs.

Atlantic Canada's lobster industry stung by low prices and global economic turmoil.
As CBC news, Lobster harvesters in Atlantic Canada aren't thrilled with the prices they're getting for their catches, but experts say the recent downturn comes as no surprise due to uncertainty looming over the industry.
Prices typically dip in May as the spring lobster season swings into high gear and buyers anticipate a boost in supply. But this season is different, says Bernie Berry, senior fisheries adviser for the Nova Scotia-based Coldwater Lobster Association.
"The big thing right now is the confusion around tariffs, whether they're on or off," he said in an interview. "Everybody is very nervous." Since then, the price has dropped to $8 a pound along Nova Scotia's Atlantic shore, and as low as $6.50 a pound in the Gulf of St. Lawrence and Newfoundland, which has left many fishers fuming. Therefore, the local customers will have good prices to buy lobsters to enjoy.

After waiting for a long time to get approval from the town, Public Works has worked out the water line which will help Nocavi Food office to the main water supply pipe system. It is the first facility for the commercial property. The next line will be sewer line which is continued by tomorrow. And the last wire line is power cable from Truro Power.

Canada will ‘respond robustly’ if Trump imposes ‘unfair tariffs,’ says PM Trudeau. As announcement on last Thursday, President Donald Trump has officially imposed 25% tariffs on all Canadian goods, and 10% on energy sectors. And as the result, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has its retaliatory actions on American goods exporting to Canada, which will be also slapped 25% right after that. The trade war has started between US and Canada, and fish and seafood sector are not an exemptional case. Many fish and seafood suppliers in Canada have to look for new markets and turn to Europe and Asia. This sector is above 60% exporting to US market, and the supply will be tremendous and favorable to other markets now. Any customers who want to purchase fish and seafood from Canada, it will be a great time for them, especially the customers in Vietnam.
