💕Thank you Family Literacy Leaders, for your support of the 1000 Books, 50 Classrooms, One Community Campaign!

📚Since December, several generous local businesses have come together to send over 250 books home with local grade 2 students. Though the weather hasn’t been entirely cooperative, class visits are underway and I will be able to celebrate Family Literacy at 5 local schools!

✨ Sponsor Spotlight: Brandon Marshall’s Building and Reno’s! Thank you for supporting the 1000 Books, 50 Classrooms, One Community Campaign! ✨

Thanks to the generosity of Brandon and his family, copies of Nova Scotia Bummer went home with 25 children right before the holiday break.

One of the lucky recipients was especially meaningful to Brandon: his son, who is in Mrs. Chisholm’s Grade 2 class at West Pictou Consolidated School. Brandon and his family understand the importance of family literacy, and they also wanted to show their appreciation to Mrs. Chisholm, who has helped countless kids build a love of reading in her classroom over the years.

Mrs. Chisholm handed out the books right before school let out for the holidays and told me she has never had a class so quiet and engaged on the last day of school. The students could not wait to get their books home, and they spent the afternoon reading together with their friends.

Thank you, Brandon Marshall and family. I am so excited to visit your son and his friends in Mrs. Chisholm’s class next week to celebrate Family Literacy!
