Plot twists.
Ahhh, plot twists!
They can be so exciting yet downright terrifying at times.
Kind of like that notorious roller coaster ride.
Or that box of chocolates.
You just never know what you’re gonna get next.
Or perhaps Forrest knew?
Maybe he knew more than he let on?
Maybe not.
Well, I guess we will never really know.
And maybe it’s not necessary to know anyhow.
Because we probably already do…
You see, knowing is a funny thing.
We know what we know, but what about what other people know that goes against our own knowingness?
And so does anyone really truly know anything?
I suppose perspective is key.
And it’s relative, right?
Kind of like first impressions.
We think they’re a sheep until they’re a wolf.
And how about the ones we could have sworn were wolves…
Don’t get me started on those lions and tigers and bears, oh my!
All we need now is a bit of red and a cape.
Or how about some shoes?
Speaking of red…
Whatever your fairy tale, remember this:
A plot twist can take many forms, such as an unexpected revelation, a surprise ending, a role reversal, or a red herring.
They're an essential part of storytelling because they add depth and complexity, reveal new information, change the story's direction, create suspense and tension, and add an element of surprise.
So always be sure to save some exciting news (or facts) and expose them right when the storyline grows predictable.
Just make certain to keep your juiciest plot twists for the end!
