Recently, while working on improved content marketing packages, I’ve been thinking and talking a lot about how content marketing differs from the other types of marketing that many people do.

The main difference is RELATIONSHIPS.

Content marketing is about going beyond the initial attraction stage to build relationships so customers trust, admire and love you enough to buy from you, introduce you to their friends and and stick around for years.

Dating and marketing are both processes of identifying and qualifying consumers (dates) with the goal of long-term relationships (typically marriage or lifetime brand/customer loyalty). At the highest level, they both involve product discovery, compatibility testing, relationship development, brand refinement, and brand advocacy.

But much like dating, you have to put in the hard work to get to know what really matters to your audience if you want to talk to them in a meaningful way. 😉

If you’re running a business and using social media, you know how important it is to convert your followers into customers.

While getting likes and engagement on your posts is great, the real goal is to make sales and grow your business.👈

Here are some tips that can help you turn your followers into paying customers:

First, take the time to really understand your target audience.

Who are they?
What do they like?
What problems are they facing?

Once you have a clear picture of your audience, the content you create needs to speak directly to them.

Make sure your content is high-quality, engaging, and visually appealing.

Your graphics, videos and photos NEED TO STAND OUT.

Even better if they’re designed to be a little unpredictable or humorous. 😉

Interact with your followers! Always make sure to respond to comments and messages, this creates opportunities for them to engage with your brand.

Use social proof to build trust with your followers. (Share customer reviews, testimonials, and success stories that demonstrate how your products or services can benefit them.)

And last but not least- MAKE IT EASY for your followers to take action by including
CLEAR CTA’s in your posts and profile bio.
Remember, the key to converting followers into customers is building relationships and trust. 🌈

“Most companies waste enormous amounts of money on marketing…
When we see the reports, we wonder what went wrong, or even start to doubt whether our product or service is as good as we believed. But what if the real issue isn’t the product at all? What if it’s how we’re talking about it?”

This idea from Donald Miller’s Building a Story Brand completely shifted how I look at communication. So often, businesses try to explain everything at once, hoping something connects. But when the message isn’t clear, people tune out.

I’ve noticed that the strongest brands aren’t necessarily the biggest or flashiest - they’re the ones that make people instantly understand 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴.

It’s fascinating how a simple shift in language can completely change how people respond to what we offer.

My monthly retainer fee works on a sliding scale so that I’m able to provide my clients with tailored packages to help them grow their social media reach and client base, AND provide unbelievably top tier service and quality of work that fits within their budget.

And while some DEFINITELY have unrealistic expectations (like wanting to bring in thousands or millions in lead gen but don’t wanna spend more than pennies 😂), there often is a middle ground that can be worked out.
