We recently had the privilege of delivering Cultural Strategy & Devotional Futurism in Media for EmpowerHer by UChannel, bringing together participants in Vancouver and Winnipeg.

The workshop explores systems thinking, ethical boundaries, future accountability, and the decisions that shape our work long before it becomes public.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed so thoughtfully to the conversation.

We’re excited to continue growing Himmat Media’s Education Series and now offer this workshop for organisations, businesses, educational institutions, charities, and community groups.

This was one of our favourite photoshoots and custom branding projects to date.

Back in 2022, entrepreneur and philanthropist Arvind Dhillon approached HIMMAT MEDIA to build his personal brand.

During our discovery process, we quickly realised that, despite his humility, Arvind had already built an incredible legacy across Vancouver, spanning property, construction, security, and the iconic Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. The challenge wasn’t building credibility. It was creating a brand that reflected the person behind it.

We designed Arvind’s logo (more on that later 👀), built his personal website, and developed a visual identity that balanced warmth with professionalism. We also knew the photography needed to feel the same. Randy Randy Meehan and I Jagreet Dhadli scouted locations across Vancouver before finding the perfect setting, and within minutes Arvind was completely at ease in front of the camera. 📸✨📿

These are still some of our favourite images from the shoot. Warmth meets The Godfather. That’s Arvind, and it was important that every part of his brand reflected that balance.

Hope you’re doing well, Arvind x

july dump 🖼️✨

trying something different this month.

evening strength sessions. new walk at night. city hall lit up after hours. notes, ipad, yellow roses i pass by everyday across the street, late nights turning into early mornings. bell hooks back in rotation, sitting with what belonging actually means.

this was a month of limbo. Himmat Media became a fully-fledged consulting studio this July — not just marketing, but branding woven with storytelling, understanding what your business actually holds, and building toward the legacy you’re really trying to leave.

Belonging is where transformation begins, because nothing sustainable can grow from fragmentation. We often mistake transformation for reinvention. But the most enduring change comes from remembering who you are, understanding what you carry, and building structures that allow both to evolve with integrity. Our last post was this month’s anchor.

this is also the start of more visibility — the work, the process, some behind-the-scenes of studio life.

16 years in this work, and it’s finally time to let you see more of it. we’re growing a small, intentional slate of clients — there’s room to be one of them.

more soon. 🤍

Belonging is where transformation begins because nothing sustainable can grow from fragmentation.

It creates the conditions, and the frameworks, for transformation. When people, organisations, and communities experience coherence between who they are, what they value, and how they behave, change stops feeling like performance. It becomes an expression of identity.

We often mistake transformation for reinvention. But the most enduring change rarely comes from becoming someone else. It comes from remembering who you are, understanding what you carry, and building structures that allow both to evolve with integrity.

Before Himmat Media became a consultancy studio, it was an exhibition and storytelling engine. 🌞

Himmat was a community storytelling project that sought to create meaningful partnerships between South Asian nonprofits and the community at large. It was an effort to preserve the stories of previous generations while creating space for the next generation of visionaries, creatives and storytellers to build on those foundations.

Looking back through the archives, and the first pitch deck I built for Himmat in 2019 (ironically, it was called Qissa Originative 😭. Qissa, meaning “story,” was in the name all along), I realised the Himmat ecosystem was already beginning to take shape. Seven years later, that same thinking has evolved into Seed Codes, our storytelling platform, which has since helped co-build three more projects, all exploring identity, preserving stories and creating space for new perspectives.

At the time, I thought I was building an exhibition. Looking back, I realise I was building a way of thinking that has quietly carried through every project since, whether in branding, partnerships, fundraising or community strategy. 🌻

Pictured here is participant Jennifer Reddy reading another participant’s story. In a Daily Hive article about the exhibition, she said:

“Sometimes our identities can be so deconstructed for us, but it’s beautiful that this event is about our whole selves, as stories being told by South Asian women for South Asian women.” 🏺

Seven years later, I still think that’s what Himmat is trying to do. 🤍

The Archive at HIMMAT MEDIA sat without a new essay or article in over two years. Then Main Vaapas Aaunga made me remember.

Not just the film itself, but my own grandparents. Their stories. Their dialects. The way memory survives through relationship long after photographs fade.

This isn’t a film review. It’s a companion; a reflection on Partition, migration, identity, nostalgia, remembrance and the quiet ways we carry those who came before us.

Perhaps people become the archive.

✍🏽 “I Remain Me Because You Are You: Remembering, Belonging and Returning in Main Vaapas Aaunga” is now live in the Himmat Archive.

Go watch the film if you haven’t already! 🎬🤍

In 2021, we started a monthly transmission for visionaries and entrepreneurs aimed at unlocking creativity through perspective shifts and doing the “shadow work” that often unblocks it.

Last month, we brought it back.

Signals, Issue 01 — Ending as Initiation.

Sometimes the work lands quietly, months later, on just another Sunday. This first issue looks at what it means to recognise when something has reached its limit, even if it’s still working, still being received, still making sense on paper, and choosing to end it before it turns into something you have to recover from.

If you’ve been circling an ending, this might help you name it.

Issue 02 is on its way to our audience’s inbox and looks at completing the cycle through tending to the flame of devotion.

Read it. Sit with it. 🏺
