So… it’s officially been one year since I stepped into my role as Communications Manager.

This past year has been full of growth, challenges, and moments I didn’t expect—both professionally and personally. I took some time to reflect on everything that’s happened, and put it into a blog post.

La̱'mux̱w 'ma̱gwabo'yiya! It’s October! 🎃

In Kwak̕wala we call October 'ma̱gwabo'yi as it’s the month of the round moon.

In Kwakwa̱ka̱'wakw cultures, we often knew times by the moons. With the everchanging weather, spawning or growing patterns, these “moons” aren’t at the same time every year like the used to.
