It seems those who work professionally in social media are the worst offenders of this...

So this morning we're back on the train of encouraging the act of creation whether or not you can "be consistent"

Admittedly, I am a liiiiittle bit nervous for everything to shake up once again as we welcome a new member of our family to the world this spring!

The daily rhythms have been more solid recently... But I truly love being home with them and creating within the margins as I am able. I will embrace every moment of this season with littles in the structured times and in the chaotic times!

Love this topic. I want to create a space where business, creativity, faith, and family aren't in competition, but integrated.

Creating online doesn't require needing to be louder, faster, or more hollow. Prioritize your interior life, then create!

Catching up now on a backlog of what things I recorded a month ago...

No, we aren't sick anymore! But I do see too many parents who are working on projects that get discouraged when the schedule doesn't look perfect.

Slow progress is still worthwhile.

The encouragement I needed.

Write and yap sesh about my journey “being the machine” for other businesses, and trying to apply that same output to work I’ve created in my leisure…

Creating online in what feels like an anti-human, post-creativity era asks us to create AND to mechanize it in order to “grow”.

It can be exhausting when you’re putting your mission-driven work out, while also functioning as a content machine. Especially if you’re a human who lives, feels, experiences, expresses, and requires rest.

Here is where it’s important to recognize the work that’s necessary to nourish vs. the tasks that can propel that work further. Don’t lose sight of the order of importance and spread yourself thin.

I love love loveeee “inconsistent creators.”

The artists who disappear for years sometimes, and return with something unmistakably alive. The creators who have “play” platforms and creative mediums outside outside of their professional craft. The ones who let themselves have sporadic moments where they share off-cadence from their usual routines. They protect the most important part.

They take time away and come back *changed*; being shaped by the work itself.

The same is true of all creatives. We pay attention not only to the work we produce, but to who we’re becoming in the act of creating.

Show up for *that* work. It’s the visionary work that makes everything else possible.

I’ve been writing a lot about what it looks like to protect your creativity when “everything is content”.

Especially when you’re working with digital media as your art form, it’s important to keep certain platforms or mediums for play.
