For those of you in our business who knew Dean Hargrave-Pawson, you remember his incredibly bright and positive energy and his true love for sand and surf.

With that, his family and their beloved Camp Couchiching have started a campaign to raise funds to build a state of the art windsurfing facility for future generations of kids to learn and enjoy. Dean and his brother Dave were instrumental in initiating the windsurfing program there, which had never existed at Camp Couchiching until their time.

Hi friends, I just wanted to repost this message from Donna Kirisits (Dean's Momma) and David HP (Dean's Brother). Just making sure we aren't missing anyone who would like to attend.

Hello everyone. Thank you for all the kind words of love and support since the loss of our Dean. It has helped our family very much through this difficult time and it is clear that he had a wonderful impact on so many people’s lives. With my Mom's help and with respect to our current environment, we will be hosting a virtual Celebration of Life for Dean on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 (5:00 PM PT/8:00 PM EST) for those interested in attending.

To keep it positive (we encourage those who would like to) - to send in a short 15-45 second video that celebrates Dean in some way. Funny stories, crazy adventures, love, work life, “Deanisms”, memorable moments or even a guitar solo...basically, a highlight reel of awesomeness.....

To do this, we will need you to record yourself or your group in a quiet and well lit space. Please film this in landscape mode (horizontal) and keep it short as we know there will be a lot to work with. When you have completed your video, please email it to our friend Mark Halliday at: [email protected]. Mark has very kindly offered to take this project on and this video will be part of our celebration of Deano. BTW, there is no pressure to send a video - only if you would like to. The cut-off date for your entry is: 5:00 PM Pacific Time, June 2, 2020.

Hello AdDrinx Community -

I know this page has been dormant a long time as everyone behind our AdDrinx Events and Gatherings seemed to have moved into new places. This is a reminder how important it is to stay connected to people we care about.

That said, I wanted to take a moment to reconnect everyone on this page as you are likely a part of the Advertising and Media family we all love and share.

This morning, we received word from a friend that our dear friend Dean Hargrave-Pawson passed away yesterday. I am not sure what happened, but it sounds like what ever it was had been compounded by the fact that he was isolated and alone during COVID-19.

This is a devastating reminder to reach out to friends, family, old and new, and drop a note of thought or love or appreciation. We never know what people are going through or dealing with. So you never know what a kind word or a virtual hug or personal message will do to help someone climb out of a dark moment.

To the MANY friends and colleagues who were lucky enough to know Dean, thoughts and love to you as you process this incredibly sad news. He brought an immense level of joy and laughter to everything we did at The Globe and Mail, at CTV and through the amazing moments in time when Vancouver hosted the Winter Olympics. It was magical. And Dean was one of those guys that came to and supported every single AdDrinx event, fundraiser and catch up. Always first in line to buy arms length 50/50 tickets to support whatever kids non-profit we were trying to help. Always there with that big beautiful Dean energy!

His laugh FILLED a room and his awesome and extensive taste in music always added the perfect soundtrack to moments with friends, new and old.

Our community will miss him and we are reminded that life is about coming together. So while we can't all be together in person, take a moment today, reach out to a friend or colleague or someone who has been on your mind this last year and let them know you are thinking of them.

Our media community keeps Donna Kirisits and Dean's family in our thoughts and prayers through this devastating time.

Rest in peace dearest Dean. Your AdDrinx and Media family will miss you forever. ❤️.
