Where should my marketing budget go, and how best to allocate it?
Yes, the annual (or more frequent) dilemma marketing managers and business owners everywhere contend with. The answers are never straightforward, and dependent on a company’s goals, industry and circumstances to name a few. While I can’t help you with the right mix, I can certainly champion branded merchandise as a category deserving the right to a seat at the table. Yes, I’m biased, but also feel strongly that promotional products have been under utilized on the whole, BUT are clearly gaining traction.
Through social media in particular, and our new pop culture meme society, SWAG is in it’s heyday and showing no signs of slowing down. Fidget spinners, Stanley tumblers, MAGA hats, and now squishy toys – all viral sensations through the accelerant of Tik Tok, Instagram etc. And yes, most can be branded with your corporate logo (MAGA hats aside)! If you’re not using promo products in your marketing mix, there’s a good chance you’re missing out.
