People have been asking how they can help Summerland. Here are six meaningful ways. 💛

As the Bald Range wildfire continues to impact the community, firefighters, first responders, emergency crews, volunteers and neighbours are doing the urgent work of protecting people, homes and businesses.

For those watching from elsewhere and wondering what they can do, one important answer is to support Summerland's local economy.

Six ways to help:

1. Buy a Summerland product. Choose locally made wine, cider, beer, spirits, food, art and other products at retailers, restaurants or online.

2. Buy a gift certificate. Purchase one now for a Summerland restaurant, winery, cidery, shop, experience or accommodation provider to use later.

3. Choose Summerland when dining out. Ask for something made in Summerland when ordering wine, cider, beer or spirits.

4. Support businesses online. Follow Summerland businesses, share their posts and recommend them to your community.

5. Plan a future visit. When it is safe and appropriate to return, consider a fall or future getaway.

6. Tell someone about Summerland. Word of mouth matters. Share the wineries, restaurants, shops, artists, producers and experiences you love.

Every purchase helps keep money moving through the local economy at a time when Summerland needs it most.

Choose Summerland. Choose local. Keep showing up. 💛

It was so special to see Trudy Heiss, a pioneering matriarch of BC wine industry, and original owner of Gray Monk Estate Winery as she did a signing of her book at the BC VQA Wine Information Centre

Publicized by Good Wine Gal, partial proceeds of the book benefit the BC Hospitality Foundation

A lovely turnout of other women in B.C. wine, media, and fans of Trudy.

Fun fact: our Leeann worked with Trudy in the early 2000s & Trudy, 86, said the last time they saw each other was 2019!

Some gifts are priceless.

This week, Chef Chrissy B🌶️ surprised our team with a basket filled with homemade BC goodness: cinnamon swirl sourdough, canned cherries, garlic scape pesto, pickles, strawberry jam, plum jelly, BC blueberry cookies, and her own take on a Nanaimo bar cookie.

It wasn’t just the food that made an impression. It was the story behind it.

Christine shared that canning has been part of her life since childhood. Her grandmother was a farmer, and every summer the family would spend time preserving the harvest together. The smell of fresh bread, jam, pickles, and produce from the garden became some of her favourite memories.

Today, she carries on that tradition, not because it’s trendy, but because she loves sharing a little piece of the season with people she cares about.

As communicators, we spend a lot of time helping clients tell meaningful stories. Sometimes those stories arrive in a basket.

Thank you, Christine, for reminding us that generosity, tradition, and the bounty of a BC summer are meant to be shared. ❤️🌾🍓

They are MARRIED!!!

After two weeks off so she could get married, our team prepared a little surprise welcome back tea time for our PR lead Sierra and her husband Michael.

We decorated the office & prepared treats, and toasted with a bottle of dealcoholized wine.

Please help us congratulate the newlyweds!

Happy World PR Day!

Public relations today looks very different than it did even a few years ago.

As media evolves, AI reshapes search, and creators become an increasingly important part of the communications landscape, brands need thoughtful strategies that connect with the right audiences in the right places.

Our team is proud to help clients navigate it all, from media relations and brand storytelling to creator partnerships, media training, event management, and VIP guest list coordination.

A big thank you to our talented team and to our media, creator, and industry partners who help bring great stories to life every day.

Some holidays are worth celebrating simply because they’re fun.

Happy National Freeze Pop Day!

Yes, it’s one of those made-up holidays, but after the stretch of warm summer weather we’ve been enjoying, we’ll happily take any excuse to enjoy a frozen treat.

Even if today is a little cooler, it still feels like the perfect time to slow down, catch up with the team, and savour a little taste of summer.

What’s your favourite flavour?

What a great read in VITA Daily Media, which covers where today's wine lover is coming from attitude-wise, and how the team at Haywire Winery is leaning into relationships and a new club model.
