We’re looking for outgoing, reliable people who:
🍷 Have w**e and/or spirits experience
🍷 Hold current Serving It Right, ProServe or Smart Choices Responsible Service certification, as applicable in your province
🍷 Enjoy engaging with consumers and sharing the stories behind the products they pour

Vancouver friends, here’s a meaningful way to stand with Summerland. ❤️

This Wednesday, August 26, our friends at Marquis W**e Cellars are bringing the w**e community together for a "Summerland Fire Relief Fundraiser", and we hope you’ll join us.

From 4–6 p.m. at Marquis W**e Cellars, 1034 Davie Street, you can taste w**es from Summerland and beyond, meet some of the people behind them and help raise funds for communities affected by the Bald Range wildfire.

🍷 W**es from Haywire W**ery, Solvero W**es, Pamplemousse Jus and Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards, plus Marquis Exclusives and more
🍷 Christine Coletta of Haywire W**ery will be there in person
🍷 Peter Marshall of Sur Lie Imports will be pouring Solvero W**es
🍷 Featured w**es will be 10% off
🍷 Snacks provided by Marquis

Admission is by donation, with a suggested $20 cash donation at the door.

Best of all, Marquis will match the total amount raised, doubling the impact.

Funds will be divided equally among the Community Foundation of the South Okanagan Similkameen Wildfire Response Fund, Central Okanagan Food Bank and Paws It Forward Dog Rescue.

Summerland’s recovery will take time. Showing up, buying the w**es and supporting the people and businesses behind this community are tangible ways we can help.

People have been asking how they can help Summerland. Here are six meaningful ways. 💛

As the Bald Range wildfire continues to impact the community, firefighters, first responders, emergency crews, volunteers and neighbours are doing the urgent work of protecting people, homes and businesses.

For those watching from elsewhere and wondering what they can do, one important answer is to support Summerland's local economy.

Six ways to help:

1. Buy a Summerland product. Choose locally made w**e, c***r, b**r, spirits, food, art and other products at retailers, restaurants or online.

2. Buy a gift certificate. Purchase one now for a Summerland restaurant, w**ery, c***ry, shop, experience or accommodation provider to use later.

3. Choose Summerland when dining out. Ask for something made in Summerland when ordering w**e, c***r, b**r or spirits.

4. Support businesses online. Follow Summerland businesses, share their posts and recommend them to your community.

5. Plan a future visit. When it is safe and appropriate to return, consider a fall or future getaway.

6. Tell someone about Summerland. Word of mouth matters. Share the w**eries, restaurants, shops, artists, producers and experiences you love.

Every purchase helps keep money moving through the local economy at a time when Summerland needs it most.

It was so special to see Trudy Heiss, a pioneering matriarch of BC w**e industry, and original owner of Gray Monk Estate W**ery as she did a signing of her book at the BC VQA W**e Information Centre

Fun fact: our Leeann worked with Trudy in the early 2000s & Trudy, 86, said the last time they saw each other was 2019!

Some gifts are priceless.

This week, Chef Chrissy B🌶️ surprised our team with a basket filled with homemade BC goodness: cinnamon swirl sourdough, canned cherries, garlic scape pesto, pickles, strawberry jam, plum jelly, BC blueberry cookies, and her own take on a Nanaimo bar cookie.

It wasn’t just the food that made an impression. It was the story behind it.

Christine shared that canning has been part of her life since childhood. Her grandmother was a farmer, and every summer the family would spend time preserving the harvest together. The smell of fresh bread, jam, pickles, and produce from the garden became some of her favourite memories.

Today, she carries on that tradition, not because it’s trendy, but because she loves sharing a little piece of the season with people she cares about.

As communicators, we spend a lot of time helping clients tell meaningful stories. Sometimes those stories arrive in a basket.

Thank you, Christine, for reminding us that generosity, tradition, and the bounty of a BC summer are meant to be shared. ❤️🌾🍓
