Hiring someone to help with your Instagram can be a great step for your business.
But one thing I’ve seen with many clients is this: they come to me frustrated because they hired someone to help with social media, but the content still doesn’t feel right.
Sometimes the posts look beautiful.
Sometimes the person helping them is talented.
But something is missing: clear direction.
After we work on their marketing strategy, things usually become easier.
They understand their goals better.
They know who they are trying to reach.
They become clearer about their message, tone of voice, and content direction.
And then they can guide the person helping them with much more confidence.
So here are a few tips I usually share with my clients before they delegate their Instagram content:
Know what you want Instagram to do for your business.
Attract new clients? Build trust? Explain your services? Sell an offer?
Share examples of designs, captions, and accounts you like.
This helps the person understand your taste and expectations.
Be clear about your tone of voice.
Do you want to sound more educational, warm, direct, professional, playful, or inspiring?
Explain who you are trying to reach.
Content for everyone usually connects with no one.
And remember: “make my Instagram look better” is not enough direction.
The clearer you are, the better someone else can help you.
