📣We are excited to introduce our new research-based feature — 🎉WongZingers — a series that takes a quick look at topics of interest concerning Chinese consumers in Vancouver, touching on their attitudes, lifestyles, and behaviours. These bits of research can also inspire us to think about more ways of relating to the community and thus how to communicate with them more effectively.

Without further ado, here is the first WongZinger ......Our recent survey on Recycling♻️ found that the Chinese community is very accepting of recycling but a large majority are of the opinion that the current information they receive can be further improved upon and made available to them in their own language. Nearly three quarters of them believe in the importance of recycling.

"It's very important to let people know that 'Asian' isn't just one big-box category — for them to become familiar with different aspects of Asian culture and how meaningful that is, and how interesting, and what that can bring to a culture as diverse as Canada where there's literally Asians from probably hundreds of countries around the world," said Ludi Lin, whose other credits include the 2017 "Power Rangers" film.

📢 “In our messages, we have not just Asian people. We have white people, we have black people, we have brown people, and if I can find pink and purple and orange people, I would put them in too. So really, it’s communicating that racism is wrong and that the entire community is opposed to it, and that’s really what we’re trying to get across in our campaign, to really indicate that there’s a properness in society and as a civil society, that we need to behave in a certain way, and that we really need to accept people from all backgrounds, because that’s what all makes us great.” - Sonny Wong, President of Hamazaki Wong Marketing Group and Lead of HealthNotHate.
