🥘 $1.09 Hot Pot Skewers?! Richmond, BC 🥘

We took the family to Yuan's Hotpot Vancouver in Richmond last week, and it was such a fun twist on traditional hot pot!

You can order $1.09 skewers and simply dip them into the hot pot broth. There’s a huge variety to choose from, including beef, pork, mushrooms, leafy greens, seafood and more. We picked a little bit of everything and were SO full afterwards!

The kids got to cook their own food, dropping each skewer into the bubbling broth, dipping it into their sauce, and doing it all over again. It made dinner feel more like an experience than just another weeknight meal.

We also tried two different hot pot broths, and each one gave the meal a completely different flavour. Plus, there’s a DIY dipping sauce station where you can mix and match your own sauce. (Our tip: don’t go overboard, the broth already brings plenty of flavour!)

Add a drink and a few snacks, and you’ve got a fun, family-friendly dinner in Richmond where everyone can find something they like.

🏃‍♀️ KingSmith WalkingPad Canada 🏃‍♀️

With fall coming and the Vancouver rain on its way, We’ve been trying to find ways to keep moving. We decided to get the KingSmith WalkingPad Canada Z3 Hybrid+ and it’s been great. I’ll walk while watching TV, listening to a podcast, catching up on a show, or even scrolling on my phone. It doesn’t feel like I’m setting aside another hour to exercise - I’m just fitting more movement into things that I’m already doing.

And my husband uses it completely differently. He’ll turn it into a treadmill to jog, while I’m usually over here at a much more leisurely pace. One machine, two very different ways of using it.

Some of the things that I really love:
•⁠ ⁠Folds flat when we’re not using it
•⁠ ⁠Wheels make it easy to move around the house
•⁠ ⁠Comfortable running surface
•⁠ ⁠App tracks steps and activity
•⁠ ⁠Small enough that it doesn’t take over the room

And as someone living in Vancouver, I have to say having an indoor option for those rainy days is a game-changer. Of course, nothing beats getting outside on a beautiful day. But when it’s pouring rain, you’re busy, the kids are home, or you just don’t feel like heading out, it’s nice to have something that makes moving a little easier.

🛋️ Rove Lab ™ 🛋️

We said goodbye to our 20-year-old sofa and hello to the Rove Lab ™ S8 Sleeper Sofa Bed.

It arrived in three boxes and was easy to put together with zero tools needed. The kids have completely made it their own, moving it around and rearranging the space constantly.

What we love:
• Soft, textured fabric that’s actually easy to clean, perfect for a teen hangout

• The flexibility to change up the space however they want
• And, of course, having an extra spot for friends and overnight guests
