To our valued clients,

As the world continues to monitor the situation with COVID-19, we wanted to bring things closer to home and take a moment to reach out.

First, we remain open for business, are fully operational and have taken steps to ensure we will be able to carry out our work for you under changing circumstances. As a local Victoria business, we understand the importance and peace of mind each of our clients needs to feel comfortable during the COVID-19 public health emergency. We can promise you as a valued client, your safety and security are our highest priority.

In line with the recommendations provided by Health Canada and the World Health Organization, we are taking the following precautions to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our clients and staff:

All of our staff are working remotely and it is business as usual

We have deferred all social events and large meetings

We have instituted rigorous cleaning protocols to ensure the office is safe and clean

Maintaining physical separation

We are monitoring Health Canada recommendations around workplace wellness and safety and will be nimble to adapt our approach as required

No shaking of hands or hugs

We accept etransfers and credit cards over the phone

All work is conducted remotely and can be emailed for approval processes

We utilize cloud-based project management software - all projects and campaigns continue to run smoothly

We are all in this together. We are doing our best to ensure the health and safety of our clients, staff and community. We greatly value your business. Your safe working relationship with Go West Design Group is our priority.

Sunday Delight
The incomparable Susan Freedman delivered her hilarious 2018 Fringe show, Old-ish to a packed Odd Fellows Hall Sunday. Melinda Harris/Go West Design Group donated creative support for the event benefitting MOVE: Adaptive Fitness & Rehabilitation.

Topping off the evening, Melinda was the lucky winner of the 50/50 draw.

Time to Get Vulnerable: Why The Best Leaders View Vulnerability As A Strength

Almost everyone seems to think that being vulnerable is a bad thing – it implies that you’re weak or defenseless. In fact, when someone is willing to admit they’re vulnerable, it demonstrates a level of trust and respect with the person or people you’re opening up to. Great leaders recognize the importance of bringing vulnerability to work because it is the foundation for open and nonjudgmental communications.

Vulnerability fuels the strongest relationships, and ultimately, helps bring even more success to your organization. The boldest act of a leader is to be publicly vulnerable which can mean a complete transformation in relationships and performance.

So what does being vulnerable in the work environment look like? Being vulnerable at work simply means you are ready to let your guard down, put aside any pretences, and be your real self. A vulnerable leader is one who checks his or her ego at the door, is comfortable with not having all the answers, and is ready to wholeheartedly embrace the perspectives, opinions, and thoughts of his or her people.
