Rotting food spread in Kings Nature Space will attract rats - those rats will spread to nearby homes - homeowners will decide to put out rat poison to control the exploding vermin population. As a result dead and dying rats will attract wildlife (owls, ravens, hawks)and dogs to eat. Have you ever seen what happens when rat poison is ingested? It’s horrible- painful . Most rat poisons are anticoagulants (bleeding can’t stop). My personal experience was losing my 9 year old mini dachshund- vets didn’t realize until too late. Toby died in pain. Called Saanich Parks and they explained the renter is not required to remove the garbage. This shows me that dog owners have become the designated scapegoat for Saanich. Spending half a million dollars to create crude fenced corridors to keep dogs restricted to paths is not only a waste of money but an insult to Saanich dog owners.
