Over the past few months we've been working on a new website for Idea Studio. What started as a redesign became something much more valuable. It gave us the chance to reflect on who we are and why we've been doing this since 2012.

When I started Idea Studio, I believed creativity could solve meaningful problems. Fourteen years later, I still do.

The tools have changed. We've designed brands, built websites, produced films and apps, and embraced everything from VR to AI. None of those were pivots. They were simply the next things to learn.

The biggest lesson, though, has nothing to do with technology.

None of this was built alone.

I've had the privilege of working alongside remarkable designers, developers, writers, filmmakers, strategists, producers and, most importantly, clients who trusted us with meaningful work. Many of those professional relationships have become lasting friendships, and every one of them helped shape Idea Studio into what it is today.

The new website reflects that journey and the values that continue to guide our work.

Strategy before ex*****on.

Technology in service of people.

AI to accelerate the work, not replace the thinking.

Craft without compromise.

Curiosity, every day.

To everyone who's been part of the journey, thank you.

Take a look at where we've landed. I'd genuinely love to know what you think.

A boutique documentary film, brand and design studio in Toronto and Vancouver, making work for organizations with something worth saying since 2012.

We wrote three words on the wall years ago.

Think. Make. Repeat.

They were never meant to be a tagline although they do look good on a t-shirt. They were a reminder to ourselves about how good work actually happens. Not just once, but consistently.

Over time they became the principles for how we approach strategy, creative, and collaboration across business, nonprofit, and government projects.

This is the thinking behind the words.
