Happy April Fools’ Day! Don’t worry. We’re not going to play a joke on you. Here in Quebec, we call today “Poisson d’avril”.  Rather than a practical joke, Quebecers stick a paper fish on a friend’s back when they greet one another. Why a fish? There are lots of theories. Some say that since April 1 usually falls during Lent, it is a reference to the tradition of eating fish during this time. Others say that it is because it marks the start of the reproduction cycle of certain fish. 🐠🐟🎏

The beauty of Quebec’s winter truly cannot be matched. We are sad that soon the snow on these trees will be melted but can’t wait for these trees to start sprouting and for the warm weather to come. Spring is coming!! 🌸🌺🌷

🚨PETITION 🚨

Students at Dawson have 30% less space than required according to Quebec government norms. The Government has been in lockstep with Dawson over the last seven years in the development of an innovative plan to add space to Dawson to create a new training centre for our seven medical programs.

Earlier this month, the government suddenly dropped the project and said they would rather put money into francophone institutions.

Dawson has been receiving a lot of support, but we need to mobilize as many Quebecers as possible if we hope the government will listen before they bring down the budget on March 22.
