A few weeks ago, I rented a small studio space for an evening and made some portraits I made of Fern, who I cold DM'd on Instagram. Super awesome and chill person to photograph. Hope to do some more in the coming weeks.

The black and white image was made on my Mamiya RB67 medium format camera using Ilford Delta 400 film and the portraits in colour were made using my Canon 5D Mark II digital SLR.

I'm going to start promoting my professional portrait and editorial photography here on FB.

I was commissioned by the TEDX Victoria organizers to photograph each of the speakers for marketing material. We rented a loft downtown and over the course of 2 days I made portraits of about a dozen amazing people -- I had about 15-20 minutes with each subject and remember having some great conversations.

This is a portrait I made of UVic Professor Sarah Hunt, PhD (Geography) in 2013. She is passionately working to change the high rates of abuse experienced by Indigenous people by examining tensions between law and violence. Sarah draws on her experience as a community-based researcher, educator, and as a member of the Kwakwaka'wakw nation to address the important subject of colonial violence.
