Just a quick reminder that there's some easy daily tasks you can do while running a business on social media... but most importantly - don't let it consume your whole day.

Tasks, like the $1.80 method, can be a good strategy for those who have limited time to spend.

We're setting intentions for the month! Who's with us?

While this mood board could easily describe an aesthetic we both wish to embody in our personal lives, it's more or less a feeling for our business as well. Light, airy, freeing and grounded. We want to ensure we stay 'on brand' but that's more about what we wish our page would be.

Setting intentions is great to create goals and check in on them. A lot of people try to make specific goals (like SMART goals) but something like this is also a chance to check in on feelings... what do you want to embody or put out? Think about it and have some fun! Creating mood boards and posting those as your phone/computer background is a great way to remind yourself.

When you need it, take it.

We needed a break & we took one. And we don't feel guilty about it.

Life is crazy, even without a global pandemic dictating our lives . Taking a break from our feed allowed us to free up some energy to focus on other things... One of us started a new business (Shoutout to ) while the other was studying for finals. But that doesn't mean we forgot about our page or our clients. It means we were able to work one-on-one with our clients, stay on task and ensure we were still supporting each other... we did all that without being 'visible'.

So much of our lives are attached to our phones and dictated by trends. Stopping to smell the roses and fully disconnect helped us return to center and ensure we are aligned with our mission.

Stay Positive. Stay Focused. Stay Strong.

While it may be hard at times, starting that small business truly is worth it! You may hear things like "stick to your 9-5 job" "the market is already saturated why are you doing this" or "its just a dream, you wont be able to make it a reality". Don't listen to people who can't see your dreams and goals in life. Don't let others bring you down because they dont know what it truly takes to do what you are doing! Starting a small business is NOT easy, your putting in the work, you have a passion and are dedicated to your dreams. No one can take that away from you!

PSA: There's a lot we can do to increase engagement and there's no "one size fits all" method... We've compiled a few reasons why your engagement might not be where you want it to be based on things we see happening more frequently!

Don't be scared & definitely don't feel like you need to change your whole strategy... Things that may work for you, most likely won't work for someone else. Our advice - keep tweaking things until you feel like your followers are seeing what they want, how often they want and are purposely engaging with your awesome account!

Pinterest is such a great tool to attain interest and capture a new audience. People typically go to Pinterest for new and fun projects, inspiration for outfits, or ways to boost social media. You should link your posts to your social media page to attract others to your page. If they are clicking on your post on Pinterest you know they are interested and possibly want to see more. What better way to attract engaging customers than through Pinterest!

Defining your target niche is an important part of a marketing plan. It can help to define:

👉🏻 What’s the best platforms to use (i.e. TikTok for a younger crowd)
👉🏻 What strategies will work the best / be received well- i.e.
email marketing, reels & videos.
👉🏻 What hashtags/accounts are important to interact with

Essentially, it's really important to understand what is of interest to your niche (be specific). That way you can ensure you’re giving them what they want!

Hashtag strategies can be confusing. We suggest you try to use between 15 to 30 hashtags per post to increase your reach! Use a mix of popular (over 1 Million) and less popular (less than 300k) ones to reach diverse audiences.

What's "Search Engine Optimization" and why do I keep hearing about it??

Simply put, SEO is about ensuring your profile is full of keywords that puts your account(s) at the top of a search list. The more strategic you are, the better chance of being a top contender in a search results. Just think, have you ever gone past page 1 on a Google search? Probably not... Same thing goes for social media. The better positioned your account is, the greater the chance of someone finding it when they search for that keyword. There's various methods and when used together, give your account the boost it needs!
